Yun Chuchu felt a surge of anger considering her extensively remodeled villa might soon be seized by the bank due to debts incurred by the original host to appease a worthless ex. She decisively said, "I'll take the reality show offer. Also, where is the film crew for the drama I funded for Lin Xian'er? Take me to the set..."
The original host hadn't really invested out of a business interest, merely to curry favor with Lin Yuhang, thus never really bothering to check on the actual situation or location of the filming.
She needed to see for herself how the shooting was progressing, to assess any chance of recouping her investments to settle the bank debts.
Lian Ge was puzzled by Yun Chuchu's sudden assertiveness.
However, given that the lady had spoken, he didn't dare refuse.
"The crew is currently filming in our city. We can head there right after dinner..."
"Alright," Yun Chuchu agreed without hesitation.
Fifteen minutes later, they were en route to the set. On the way, Lian Ge earnestly advised, "Be sharp when you get to the set; don't let Lin Xian'er or her like take advantage of you."
"That brother and sister pair are nothing good; they only know how to use people..."
"I understand," Yun Chuchu responded crisply.
Soon after, they arrived at the set just in time to witness Lin Xian'er throwing a tantrum. She was berating the staff and refusing to cooperate with the filming.
Even the director's intervention did little to tame her as she arrogantly demanded additional scenes for herself.
Director Feng Ming, struggling to contain his anger, explained, "Miss Lin, as I've mentioned before, this drama is a major IP adapted personally by the original author. Not a single word can be altered."
"I was promised a boost by Yun Chuchu with all that extra funding. All I'm asking for is a few more scenes," Lin Xian'er brazenly retorted. "You can't even accommodate that? Isn't that a bit too much?"
"Do you want to give me those scenes or not?"
"No!!!" Feng Ming stood his ground firmly.
Lin Xian'er, incensed by his refusal, threatened, "If you don't give me the scenes, believe me, I'll get Yun Chuchu to pull the funding."
Though the money was nearly spent, Feng Ming was loath to be manipulated further. He would ensure Lin Xian'er and Yun Chuchu were blacklisted by the industry.
"Do as you please..." he started to say, but was interrupted by a stern voice.
"Enough!!!"
Feng Ming turned, surprised.
All eyes followed the commanding voice to see a woman standing assertively. With an aura of simplicity mixed with allure, she wore mere jeans and a tee, yet radiated an intimidating charm.
Lin Xian'er was undoubtedly pretty, but next to Yun Chuchu, she looked merely servile.
Had Yun Chuchu undergone plastic surgery? Why did she suddenly look so striking?
Feng Ming was momentarily dazzled by Yun Chuchu's presence but was quickly reminded of the troubles her investment had brought upon the set, which overshadowed any initial awe.
Yun Chuchu didn't care about the surrounding murmurs. She walked over to Lin Xian'er and stated, "You have two choices: follow the director's instructions and start filming, or pack up and leave the set."
Lin Xian'er, expecting support from Yun Chuchu, was taken aback.
"Yun Chuchu, have you lost your mind? How dare you speak to me like that?" she sputtered, aware of Yun Chuchu's infatuation with her brother and how it usually made her docile towards Lin herself.
"No more talk, do you want to shoot or not?" Yun Chuchu asked, impatient.
"Only if you add my scenes; otherwise, I'm not filming!" Lin Xian'er stood her ground, not believing Yun Chuchu would actually dismiss her.
"Well, if you're not filming, then leave." Yun Chuchu nodded calmly and commanded, "I'm the producer and the financier here; I say she's off the crew. Escort her out."
Lin Xian'er was in disbelief, "Yun Chuchu, you bitch, how dare you throw me out..."
Her rage boiled over, and she raised her hand to strike Yun Chuchu, unable to fathom the turn of events.
