Chapter 5 - A Turn of Fate on Set

"I never wanted to resort to violence, but you asked for it…" Yun Chuchu stated coolly, her eyes glinting with an icy resolve as she seized Lin Xian'er's arm.

With a sharp **snap**, Yun Chuchu delivered two resounding slaps to Lin Xian'er's face. She then forcefully released Lin Xian'er's hand, saying coldly, "You're fired. You're no longer part of this crew. Get out…"

Lin Xian'er stumbled to the ground after being thrown aside, her fury nearly driving her to madness. She wanted to lash out at Yun Chuchu in desperation.

However, with Lian Ge watching menacingly, along with a director and crew that clearly disliked her, she knew she would be at a disadvantage if she escalated the fight.

Lin Xian'er had no choice but to suppress her anger and said through gritted teeth, "Fine, I'll go. But you'll regret this…" Yun Chuchu didn't take Lin Xian'er's words to heart.

She turned to Feng Ming and asked softly, "Can we just replace the actress and continue shooting? Shouldn't be a problem, right?"

Feng Ming was inwardly pleased but appeared troubled, "Unfortunately, that might not work. The location we've rented is only available for a few more days. Finding a suitable replacement and reshooting all of Lin Xian'er's scenes might not be feasible in such a short time."

"That complicated, huh?" Yun Chuchu frowned and then inquired, "Can't we just cut this character out? Isn't it a minor role?"

Feng Ming shook his head, "That would be even worse. The role may not have much screen time, but it's critical to the narrative. Removing it would destroy the entire film."

Explaining further, he handed the script to Yun Chuchu for her to understand the significance of the role.

After reviewing the script, Yun Chuchu realized that the character, the ethereal Bixian Fairy, was crucial as the beloved figure of the antagonist's mentor. Removing her would cause continuity issues throughout the story.

"What do we do now?" Feng Ming lamented, feeling overwhelmed.

Yun Chuchu thought for a moment, then offered, "If it's not too much of an inconvenience, I could play the role myself. I won't charge any fees; I just want to wrap up shooting quickly."

Feng Ming and the others were stunned, looking at her as if she were a ghost.

"Is there a problem?" Yun Chuchu asked, puzzled. "Isn't the role's required appearance supposed to be stunning? 'The most beautiful in all the realms.' Don't I fit this description?"

The others hesitated but shook their heads. While Yun Chuchu was undeniably beautiful, her acting in past projects had been less than stellar, often mocked by her detractors.

Yun Chuchu, aware of the original host's lackluster acting skills, understood their concern.

"Why not let me try? It won't waste much time. If it doesn't work, we can think of something else," she suggested.

"Alright," Feng Ming conceded, having no better options, "Go get changed and made up."

Yun Chuchu nodded and followed the staff to the makeup room. When she reappeared, she was transformed. Dressed in a flowing white gown, she looked ethereally beautiful, every bit the part of the Bixian Fairy.

Feng Ming, having had little hope, was astounded by her transformation. When she walked onto the set, she looked as if she had stepped right out of the script.

"Let's start. Just try this scene," Feng Ming said, resigning himself to expect the worst.

However, Yun Chuchu's performance was transformative. As soon as she began, her presence altered starkly.

"Worlds may collapse, spirits may fade, only through self-sacrifice can salvation be found. I am willing to give my life for the sake of humanity…" Her voice was cold, her expression detached, embodying the celestial maiden devoid of worldly desires.

Yet, Bixian, though divine, felt fear and apprehension, emotions Yun Chuchu portrayed with nuanced depth.

When she finished, the set fell silent, awestruck. After a moment, applause broke out spontaneously.

"Bravo, Chuchu..." Feng Ming was emotional, nearly speechless with excitement, "My God, you were astonishing. I never expected such a performance from you…"

"Seeing Yun Chuchu act, I got goosebumps. I've only ever felt this way watching the top actors perform," another crew member remarked.

Even Lian Ge was stunned.

Having found the perfect actress, Feng Ming was ecstatic. He quickly made arrangements to reshoot all of Lin Xian'er's scenes.

"Everyone, prepare to start shooting immediately. Also, call the actor playing the mentor, tell him we've found the perfect counterpart."

As preparations buzzed around her, Yun Chuchu memorized her lines, an easy task for her sharp mind.

Soon, they resumed filming, starting with Yun Chuchu's scenes with the extras. While the crew had been initially skeptical, her consistent performance dispelled all doubts.

Next were the crucial scenes between Bixian and her mentor. Just as they were about to start, Feng Ming suddenly called out, "Ah Che, over here…"

Yun Chuchu looked up to see a striking figure approaching—a man of bewitching beauty, his charisma enhanced by a distinctive red mole above his eye. She gasped in shock as he drew closer...
