CHAPTER 5
When Dorothy woke up, she found herself in a hospital with her until staring at her. He was very happy she'd finally woken up.
"Where am I? Where is my mum?? uncle why are you silent? Say something! Don't tell me mum is gone.... " She grabbed his hands crying.. She just didn't want to accept the fact that her mum was gone! She wished someone would tell her it was just a dream, but everything now seemed clear, her mum had left her all alone in this wicked world.
If tears are capable of bringing someone back to life, because she almost cried her life out. She continued crying until she passed out again.
Her uncle consoled her when she finally woke up, telling her to be strong and promised he was going to stand by her from now on.
He also promised to sponsor her through school.
"Uncle Richard is indeed a good man like mum told me before" Dorothy thought.
After she was discharged from the hospital, uncle Richard took her home and packed her things since she was going to stay with him. Although she felt sad, she remembered her mum's words; " be strong " and they consoled her.
Mr Richard was a very wealthy but very kind. He had a very beautiful wife and two children. Their house was like a little paradise,, soo beautiful !
At first, Mr Richard's wife was very kind to Dorothy likewise his children. But immediately Mr Richard travelled, they began showing their true colours.
Mrs Richard made Dorothy work like a slave. Dorothy would wake up as early as 4am and end up going late to school because of too much work she had to do.. She was always the one who cooked, washed dishes, sweep the whole house, wash clothes and run errands for her uncle's wife and kids.
Sometimes, she wondered why her cousins, Annabel and Gabriel did nothing in the house. They enjoyed bossing her around like a maid.
However, whenever Mr Richard was around, they treated her better and gave her less work to do. But her situation didn't get better since he was hardly around. Although she was tempted to tell him everything, she couldn't bear to cause any trouble between him and his wife. She had to endure everything in silence...
