Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: The Ambition

Lestes savoured the smoky aroma of the barbecue, the tender meat melting in his mouth. It was one of the rare moments he allowed himself to relax. But his peace was abruptly interrupted by two sharp, thunderous booms reverberating through the camp. Instantly alert, he turned toward the source, Ling Xing Yue and Xiao Linger's tents.

Above the tents, swirling vortexes had formed, greedily devouring the surrounding spiritual qi. The spectacle was a clear sign of breakthroughs.

A sly smile curled on Lestes's lips. "Two more powerful and talented maids in the camp," he murmured. "The future looks bright indeed."

The nearby demon beasts were only of tier one, the phenomena didn't attract any demon beasts. Lestes signed in relief.

He chuckled softly, stroking his chin in thought. "Maybe I should create an entire army of talented maids. Not a bad idea, is it?"

His mind wandered, spinning possibilities and devising plans.

With each day passing, negative emotions and lustful thoughts accumulated, in his soul that leaked out of the nine-headed serpent's seal, Lestes found it harder to control the increasing lust within him, and

Suppressing it was like trying stop to a raging river water with a dam. if suppressed for a long time till the water level reaches beyond dam capacity, the consequence is the collapse of the dam. He knew the consequences of letting Negative emotion and lust thoughts overflow; the loss of his sanity or, worse, the birth of a heart demon, a calamity he couldn't afford.

with some efferts and methode he could save himself from lossing sanity. But for long term, it was not a good solution.

once a heart demon is born, it would be a lot more difficult to get rid of, with his experience it shouldn't be much problem but in the current situation, with the boost of negative emotions, the heart demon would grow faster and would become hard to control.

Lestes sighed, his tone sober. "Better to release some than let it consume me entirely."

It was like a dam releasing water to maintain stability. Just as a dam must let out excess water to avoid collapse, he needed a controlled outlet for his lust. His method was pragmatic, born of necessity. Channelling the overflow, that is, by dual cultivation with suitable partners, spending a little accumulation of lust thoughts, to preserve his sanity.

The thought brought him back to his criteria. His maids had to be more than just beautiful. They must have patience and persistence and must have a fate with him. Talent was not much of concern. With his miraculous yang qi, even those with average talent could blossom into prodigies. But without patience, they won't be able to focus on difficult tasks, such as comprehending advanced techniques. Comprehension requires a lot of patience; it's time-consuming.

"I'll travel the continent," he decided aloud, pacing. "But only those with a fated connection will be chosen. Forcing fate is beyond my reach, at least for now."

As he spoke, the embers of ambition flared in his eyes. His journey would span vast lands, encountering countless cultivators. The plan was grand but fraught with challenges.

A new concern surfaced in his mind. "How will I control so many powerful maids? Slave marks alone won't suffice."

Slave marks required soul power to control, and his current limits meant he could only manage to plant a handful of slave marks. without control it may be a disaster for him; once a maid revolt could unravel his plans and expose him to enemies.

Lestes clenched his fists. "There must be a way... perhaps I've already prepared for this."

His thoughts drifted to the yin-yang fusion art, the technique he had created before his long slumber. In the same way, he must have a solution for this problem.

"while travelling i can also look for buddhist sects, when it come to negative thoughts, they are best. Buddhist scrupture conten's alot of knowladge and are collection wisdom of many generation saint's. Buddhist scrapture can help people, get rid of evil within one seleves and also teach self control. it would be good if i come across a buddhist sect" he come up with a solution for negative emotions.

"but they are hypocrite, they say something else but do opposite." Lestes remmbered. In the past he come across many buddhist, they were all hypocrite, they all said 'i am not greedy' but they all were rooting for the treasures he had. Lestes was annoyed and angry, he slouther them all. He rarely come acrossed buddhist those abid buddha rules.

He added "if they didn't give then rule of cultivarion world will be applied"

If they gave after asking then good, if they didn't give then very good, I would snatch it from you.

Shrugging off his worries, he finished the last of the barbecue and leaned against a tree, letting his mind rest. But the peace was short-lived.

A deafening roar echoed through the wilderness.

Lestes's eyes snapped open, scanning the horizon. A horde of beasts was charging toward the camp, their frenzied howls growing louder.

"Interesting," he muttered, a flicker of excitement lighting up his face. "A little commotion has drawn quite the audience."

The phenomenon caused by the breakthroughs had stirred up the spiritual energy of the area, attracting nearby cultivators and beasts alike. Some cultivators, too weak to confront Lestes directly, had lured the beasts to do their dirty work.

Lestes rose to his feet, his expression calm but his aura sharp. From his storage ring, he retrieved an ancient plate etched with intricate runes, a defensive array formation plate.

This array plate, he got into the collection of treasure cave in which he and Feng Luo Chen had spent the night.

Activating the array required a large number of spirit crystals, Lestes had more than enough. With a flick of his wrist, he poured the crystals into the plate. The air buzzed with energy as a translucent barrier enveloped the tents, safeguarding Ling Xing Yue and others as they completed their breakthroughs.

Satisfied, Lestes turned toward the approaching beasts. They were now less than a mile away.

Drawing his sword, he smirked. "Perfect timing. I've been meaning to test the limits of my eighth stage Qi Condensing realm."
