Chapter 31 - Chapter 31: The beast tide

The dense forest echoed with the feral roars of demon beasts, their glowing red eyes piercing the thick mist like ominous lanterns. The ground trembled under their collective charge, a horde of more than a hundred vicious creatures surged toward Lestes. Most of them were tier one only a few were teir two and all of them were early stage except one middle stage.

Lestes stood calm, The faint, golden glow of his Qi enveloped him, the aura of the eighth stage of the Qi Condensing realm, that he had compressed, exploded, eloping surrounding, this was a warning for the beasts. Lestes didn't want a clash unless, no option remained, after all before him were more than a hundred beasts, though Lestes was not afraid of them, but a clash would be devastating and may leave him with serious injuries. the sudden appearance of beasts made Lestes Little suspicious, if it was man-made, then, those who lured the beasts must be waiting for his most vulnerable state, to rip the benefit with the least effort and loss.

The beasts hesitated briefly at his aura, their primal instincts warning them of the danger. But sheer numbers and bloodlust overrode caution, and they charged with renewed ferocity.

"So, you've chosen death," Lestes muttered, his voice barely audible over the cacophony of snarls. He took a deep breath, and in an instant, his presence changed. The air around him crackled as streaks of lightning gathered at his feet.

"Lightning Mirage Dance!"

Lestes' form disappeared with a flash, leaving behind only a faint afterimage. The first row of demon beasts snarled in confusion, their claws swiping at empty air. Before they could react, Lestes reappeared behind them, his sword slicing through the air with blinding speed. A crescent of silver light surged forward, bisecting three beasts in a single stroke. Their bodies fell to the ground with dull thuds, dark blood pooling beneath them.

The remaining beasts roared in fury, their crimson eyes locking onto him. They lunged from all directions, their claws tearing through the air like deadly scythes. Lestes' figure blurred again, vanishing moments before the beasts' attacks converged on his position. He reappeared several paces away, his movements swift and precise as he avoided the deadly onslaught.

"Too slow," he said, his tone tinged with disdain.

A tier two wolf jumped over him, its swinging claw to Lestes's chest, Lestes blocked it with the sword. Wolf raor and his claw tear through the wind once again directed toward Lestes's head, clow smashed Lestes' head, but no blood spilt. An afterimage, Lestes already had left that place, The next instant after he defended Wolf's attack, he activated his Lightning Mirage Dance and disappeared living afterimage.

Lightning flashed and the sword fell, The head of the wolf demon fell on the ground in the blink of an eyes. Lestes Used the most direct attack and killed the wolf demon in front. He didn't rest, lightening flashed below his leg, he activated a lightening mirage dance and swung his sword cutting the demon's head relentlessly,

One particularly massive demon beast, its tusks curved like scimitars and its body armoured with jagged scales, was a giant scaled elephant a tier two demon beast, charged at him with terrifying speed. Its roar was deafening, the sound reverberating through the forest like thunder. Lestes raised his sword, channelling his Qi into the blade. The weapon's edge glowed with a brilliant blue light, crackling with arcs of lightning.

"Thunderbolt Phantom Slash!"

The sword descended in a swift arc, releasing a bolt of lightning that streaked toward the beast. The attack struck with explosive force, shattering its scaled armour and reducing it to a charred, lifeless husk. The surrounding beasts hesitated, their instincts once again screaming at them to flee. But their rage and numbers drove them forward.

"You'll need more than numbers to defeat me," Lestes said, his voice calm yet charged. He activated the Lightning Mirage Dance once more, his figure flickering like a phantom through the horde. Each movement was accompanied by a flash of light and a streak of blood as his sword found its mark. Heads rolled, limbs were severed, and the beasts fell one by one, unable to keep up with his speed and precision.

The forest floor was soon littered with the corpses of demon beasts, their blood soaking into the earth. But the remaining creatures showed no sign of retreat. Instead, they seemed to grow more frenzied, their attacks becoming more fierce as they sought to corner him.

Lestes also didn't fall back he charged forward, his control over qi was improving very fast, not just that, he was also comprehending the sword's intent, slowly grasping it.

Lestes was fighting with multiple purposes, first to make his foundation more solid and get used to a sudden increase in strength after breakthroughs several levels in one go.

Second, he wanted to gain experience and awaken his perception and fighting instinct, which had been in slumber, deep within him. The

The third was to comprehend, the sword's intent. He already had comprehended sword qi, the fourth and most important to awaken his survival instinct, using this chance, to achieve all of this in one go. It was also the best chance since.

He leapt into the air, his body spinning gracefully as he gathered his Qi. Lightning crackled around him, forming a web of energy that radiated outward. At the apex of his jump, he slashed downward, releasing a torrent of lightning-infused energy.

The attack struck the ground with devastating force, sending shockwaves rippling through the clearing. The web of lightning expanded, electrocuting any beast within its range. Those closest to the epicentre were reduced to ashes, while others were thrown back, their bodies smoking and convulsing.

Lestes landed lightly amidst the devastation, his expression unchanging. The surviving beasts, fewer than half their original number, faltered.

'Only half of the beast remains and half of the condensed qi has been consumed. But now that I have full control over my strength, so it won. It is a problem for me to finish the rest' Lestes Qi exclaimed in his heart after explaining the changes the battle had brought to him. His excitement was increasing instead of decreasing, his aura was stable, condensed and compressed. Now he has full control over his strength.

Before falling into slumber, Lestes had experienced countless life-and-death struggles. He was fearless, as an expert of that height, his control over his strength was to an unprecedented level, where with a single thought, he could move his qi and amount never exceed the required. He could gauge enemy strength and weakness just by a single glance. After a slumber, those instincts that had been over countless years of fighting and killing countless enemies lay dormant deep inside.

It's no surprise that in the short term of the fight he could, fully control his strength.

'rudimentary sword intend was formed, at the end of this battle, it should be fully formed'.

He dashed forward, his speed enhanced by the Lightning Mirage Dance. The beasts that remained were no match for his relentless assault. His sword danced like a living thing, each swing calculated and deadly. One by one, the beasts fell, their roars fading into silence. Lestes still stand vigilant, holding his sword in his hand.
