"Pika Pika Pika!" Pikachu sped up, moving faster and faster until it was like a bolt of lightning, smashing right through Meowth's robot! The machine exploded with a loud "boom," and Jessie, James, and Meowth were all sent flying.
"I thought maybe this time we'd have a different outcome…" James shrugged.
"Mimimimii!" Mime Jr. echoed, mimicking James' tone and movements.
"But in the end, we got defeated just like always…" Jessie said, frustrated.
"Exactly, and we didn't even get to say our motto…" Meowth lamented.
"Then, let's just say it together…"
"Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again!" And with that, Team Rocket disappeared into the sky, once more reduced to twinkling stars.
Ash turned to Misty and May. "Nice job holding back earlier. And May, Squirtle did great! Without you two, those Pokémon eggs would've been in trouble. Nicolette's Vileplume was impressive too; I'd say she's more than ready for her own journey. Let's go and return the eggs to the greenhouse."
Blushing a little at Ash's praise, Misty and May started gathering the eggs.
Nicolette was thrilled, as she had heard from Misty and May that Ash was an accomplished Pokémon Trainer. Receiving recognition from him was a great honor.
Christopher, Jeannie, and their daughter Nicolette joined them, busy with the care of the Pokémon eggs, which took up a good portion of the evening. Many eggs needed extra attention and restoration, which was time-consuming.
"Everyone, come here! This egg is about to hatch!" Nicolette's excited voice called out. The egg, glowing brightly, started shaking gently, radiating more and more light.
"Looks like you're all very lucky. The timing of the egg's hatching aligns perfectly with our prediction, so you'll get to see it firsthand," Christopher laughed heartily.
"I wonder what kind of Pokémon will hatch from it?" Brock, Misty, and May speculated as they looked on, intrigued.
With a crackling sound, the egg finally split open, revealing an adorable creature with red fur.
"Ah! It's a Vulpix! It really is a Fire-type Pokémon, so cute!" Misty said, enthralled.
"I want one too!" May added, as neither she nor Misty could resist such a cute Pokémon.
Hearing this, Christopher and Jeannie exchanged glances and nodded. "Of course, it's no problem. You've all been a huge help. Without you, the eggs entrusted to us by other trainers might have been stolen. So, we'd like to give you two eggs as a token of our gratitude."
And so, Ash and his friends received two beautiful eggs from the Pokémon Caretakers at the farm.
After some discussion, Misty and May were given the eggs.
Misty's egg was a clear, watery blue, while May's had a tawny, patterned appearance, both extremely beautiful.
Their next destination was a place called Silver Town.
As they journeyed onward, Misty and May diligently cared for their eggs, using techniques they had learned from Christopher and Jeannie. Brock also shared some knowledge and skills on Pokémon egg care.
Ash, meanwhile, focused on training his Pokémon.
"Sceptile, your next goal is to harness your greatest advantage: speed. Right now, speed will be the key to your victory."
"Scept!" Sceptile nodded in agreement.
Ash then turned to Swellow and Pidgeot. "Swellow, you and Pidgeot can focus on speed training, with Sceptile as your practice partner. Swellow, your fighting spirit is strong, so…"
With careful planning, Ash assigned tasks to each Pokémon, leaving only Pikachu.
"Pikachu, you're last. The move you used to destroy Team Rocket's machine was called Volt Tackle. This is a unique skill only Pikachu can learn; other Pokémon can't use it."
"Pika-pika!" Pikachu nodded, excited to have learned a new move.
"But you're still not used to it. Volt Tackle causes a little recoil damage to you, so you'll need more practice. Do you see that large rock over there? Use Volt Tackle on it and try to shatter it!"
"Pika!"
Volt Tackle can be thought of as a combination of Quick Attack and Thunderbolt. Pikachu dashed forward, beginning to practice the move.
Ash went into the nearby forest to search for herbs that would help Pokémon recover quickly from injuries. Skill training often led to minor injuries, so having medicinal herbs would be handy. And if he could develop his Aura abilities further, he could even gain some healing power of his own.
