Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Trouble

"Yes, you can, but only when there are no others around," the system responded.

"Answer my earlier question," Lin Feng demanded without hesitation.

"Because the host had not formally used the Time-Space Pass, the system does not fully acknowledge it," the system replied.

"Alright then," Lin Feng sighed, realizing the issue was that the system hadn't recognized Busujima Saeko as part of his team yet.

Without delay, Lin Feng used the Time-Space Pass he had just obtained on Saeko. Immediately, a faint golden light radiated from her body, lasting only a few seconds. Once it dissipated, a beam of light shot from the system into Saeko's mind.

Startled by the sudden influx of new memories, Saeko glanced at the system that retreated into Lin Feng's body. She began processing the unfamiliar information in her mind.

Lin Feng moved his motorcycle to a safer distance and looked back at the gas station, which was rapidly filling with zombies. When the station was bursting at capacity, he took out the police-issued revolver and aimed at the fuel pumps.

Bang! Bang!

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

The gas station exploded in a spectacular blaze. Lin Feng watched the inferno, hearing a notification in his mind.

"Ding~ Congratulations, Host, on completing the 'Kill 100 Zombies' achievement. Reward: 100 points, 1,000 taels of gold, and a standard lottery draw."

Looking at the burning station and the steadily increasing number of dead zombies, Lin Feng thought, "Blowing up one gas station took out over 200 zombies. If I find a few more stations, I can finish this mission in no time."

Feeling elated, he checked his task progress and had the system open his status panel.

Host: Lin Feng

Age: 17

Potential: Unknown

Weapons: None

Level: Qi Refinement Stage 1

Spiritual Sense: 20+

Cultivation Technique: Supreme Divine Method

Companion: Busujima Saeko

Points: 230

Seeing his stats brought a sense of satisfaction. After closing the panel, Lin Feng revved up the motorcycle and drove off.

"Saeko, do you know where we could find a place to rest? It's getting late, and I'd rather not push through the night. Especially with you here—it would be terrible to let a girl stay up all night," Lin Feng said with a grin.

"Ah, yes. If we keep going straight, there's a small town about nine kilometers ahead," Saeko answered, her tone softening. Then, after a brief pause, she asked, "Lin Feng, are you really from another world?"

"Of course! Once things settle down, we'll go back to my world. You can either stay at my place and relax or join me at school. I'll figure something out for you," Lin Feng replied confidently.

"Really? I can go to school again?" Saeko's eyes sparkled with excitement.

"Absolutely. Once we're there, you can do whatever you want," Lin Feng said with certainty.

He wasn't just making empty promises. With the mission rewards of 1,000 taels of gold, Lin Feng had accumulated 4,000 taels, equivalent to 20,000 grams of gold. At the current market rate of 358 yuan per gram, he was effectively sitting on over 71 million yuan. Lin Feng was officially wealthy—aside from his average height, he was rich and handsome.

"Thank you, Lin Feng," Saeko murmured as she hugged him tightly, resting her head against his back.

"You don't need to thank me—you're my girl now," Lin Feng teased.

"Stop it!" Saeko blushed, her voice laced with a shy charm.

After enjoying the moment, Lin Feng asked the system, "Is there a way to change Saeko's identity?"

"Ding~ The system suggests purchasing an Identity Converter, which can accomplish this."

"How do I buy it?" Lin Feng inquired eagerly.

"It's available in the Points Shop for 100 points. Would you like to purchase it?"

"Buy it now and set it to activate when we leave this world," Lin Feng instructed.

With everything sorted, Lin Feng drove on. Before long, they reached the small town Saeko had mentioned and found an empty house to settle in for the night.

After ensuring Saeko was asleep, Lin Feng lay down and closed his eyes, allowing his consciousness to enter the system space.

"System, open the lottery feature," Lin Feng said excitedly.

"Opening lottery system. Begin spinning... Stop!"

The wheel slowed and stopped on a prize labeled Future Mecha.

"Ding~ Randomized Mecha: Congratulations, Host, on obtaining the original Dragon Artifact - Zirhart."

Mecha Weapon: Zirhart

Grade: Sealed - Spirit Tool; Unsealed - Treasure Tool

Power: 450

Range: 250 meters

Speed: 500 meters per second

Recoil: None

Evaluation: A legendary Dragon Artifact. Unsealing it requires mastering the Eternal Language. Once unsealed, its power rivals Treasure Tools. The system advises learning the Eternal Language to unlock its full potential.

Lin Feng's jaw dropped. The attributes were astonishing. While he vaguely recalled hearing about Dragon Artifacts and the Eternal Language, he couldn't place their origins. Still, the thought of wielding a weapon nearing the level of Immortal Tools filled him with excitement.

As he returned to reality, the creak of a door opening snapped him to attention. Turning, he saw five or six thuggish figures enter. They were of varying builds, sporting colorful hair, piercings, and tattoos—a clear sign they were trouble.

"Who are you?" Lin Feng asked, his voice waking Saeko, who quickly hid behind him.

"Boss, look! There's a girl here too," one lanky man said, glancing at a pudgy leader in the center.

"What do you think? Of course, we go for it! Hahaha!" The leader's lecherous gaze fixed on Saeko, who shrank further behind Lin Feng.

"You handle the guy; I'll deal with the girl!" the others cheered.

"You're courting death!" Saeko growled, stepping forward with a wooden practice sword in hand, her eyes blazing with fury.

Before she could act, Lin Feng pulled her back behind him.

"Why can't I even get a peaceful night's rest? Fine, if you want trouble, I'll play along," Lin Feng said, a wry smile spreading across his face.
