After the police had found me, an officer made me write down my contact information and told me I was free to leave but had to report of they needed anything. When I got home, I couldn't stop sobbing. I had never seen a dead body in my life other then on the television, especially not one as gory as that one.And who had done that?! How could they have gotten away in such rapid succession? I raked my brain, trying to think of who may do such a thing. It could have been me with my gut cut open like that, oh my godSuddenly I heard my phone ringing. I didn't want to answer it whoever it was. I looked at the phone screen. It was Alastair. When I answered, he immediately said, "Oh my god Jake! I heard what happened, are you okay?!" I could tell he was terrified, but he hid it well."I-I don't even know," my voice was hoarse from sobbing."Hold on, I'm coming home right now!" he said on the phone before promptly hanging up.I was surprised to find he got home in less than 10 minutes."Jake! Are you okay, are you hurt?!" He said, concern written all over his face."I-I'm f-fi..." I couldn't even Finnish my sentence without bursting into tears.I felt his arms wrap around my body. I couldn't keep myself together."Don't worry, I won't let anything happen to you, it's over now," I heard Alastair say to me.I sighed shakily.
After having some leftover soup from a few days ago I figured I should probably go to bed as it was already 10 at night.
Alastair was taking a shower or something so I sprawled myself out trying to make myself cozy but I couldn't fall asleep.I couldn't get everything that had happened out of my mind. The blank and hollow look of that poor human in the woods. I didn't want to think about all of this but I couldn't stop myself.
