In a small village in the country of Luthuria lived a fairly old man named Hans. The village was called Fiumel Village. There was a fairly large river in the village. The water in the river was abundant and fresh. Hans was a farmer and had a simple house. Hans woke up early as usual and went to the kitchen to cook breakfast. The distinctive aroma of eggs from Hans' cooking filled the room. A quiet morning in the countryside was perfect for drinking a cup of tea. Hans enjoyed his eggs and tea while reading the newspaper.
In the newspaper, Hans read that one of the buildings in the Nyurai District was on fire. It was suspected that the building was burned down due to an electrical fire.
"There have been many terrible incidents lately," he hissed. "Luckily I was lucky enough not to experience anything bad like that," Hans said with a sigh.
After breakfast, Hans prepared as usual to go to the fields. Hans put on his boots and put on his hat in his room. Hans got out of his house to leave.
Hans opened the door of his house and he stopped after taking a step out of his house. How surprised Hans was. There were two baby boys in front of his house located in two different baskets. The two baby baskets looked new and luxurious. Hans immediately brought the two babies into his house.
"Were you abandoned by your parents? Poor thing, even though you were still small and adorable."
When Hans looked at the baskets of the two babies, Hans found a piece of paper in each of the baskets. One of the papers said "Aruta" and the other said "Juriko".
"Your names are Aruta and Juriko," he muttered. "Okay, I'll take care of you from now on." Even though Hans didn't have a wife, Hans always dreamed of having children. Even though they weren't his biological children, Hans took care of them with great love.
Several days passed, two weeks to be exact. Hans took care of them like normal babies. Often changing their diapers. Because he couldn't breastfeed them, Hans could only try to buy them formula milk.
Today, Hans went to the fields as usual to work. During the day, Hans took a break as usual by sitting on a fallen tree that other workers also used to rest.
"Oi Hans, why are there little children in your house, who are they?"
Hans replied, "Oh them. They were in front of my house a few days ago. Their parents also haven't picked up those two adorable childern. It seems like they were abandoned. I decided to take care of them."
Several days passed. Hans felt that other farmers were talking about him. Other farmers thought Hans was strange because he didn't have a wife but had children. Hans preferred not to care and continued to take care of Aruta and Juriko with great love.
The day passed, and the sun began to set in the western horizon. Hans looked at Aruta and Juriko who were fast asleep in their cribs. They looked so peaceful without any disturbance.
"Oh yeah, I haven't given myself a nickname yet. Hmm," Hans said. "Since I'm old, you can just call me Grandpa," Hans said looking at the two babies who were fast asleep.
"Aruta... Juriko... grow up to be strong and good people, okay. Promise me."
