Zhuzhu's bedroom door is usually just left ajar, as she can't reach the doorknob yet.
Zhuzhu was sitting on a small carpet beside the bed, with her scraped knees bent, pouting and blowing on them by herself.
Xu Chunian tried her best to lower her voice, "Zhuzhu, may I come in?"
Seeing her, Zhuzhu was still very scared, with panic written all over her beautiful eyes.
"I won't hurt you. Your little piggy is lost." She held up the little pig plush doll in her hand.
Zhuzhu stared straight at her, clenching her small fists.
Only then did Xu Chunian push the door open and repeatedly promised, "I won't hurt you."
She took off her shoes, sat beside Zhuzhu, and handed her the little pig plush doll.
Zhuzhu was startled and instinctively dodged, closing her eyes tightly. But when the person opposite didn't make any move for a long time, she quietly opened her eyes and looked at her timidly.
There was the bed behind her. Zhuzhu had no way to retreat, and she didn't dare to take the doll from Xu Chunian's hand either.
Xu Chunian placed the little pig plush doll beside her, "Shall I put some medicine on your wound for you?"
Zhuzhu was trembling slightly all over, still clenching her small fists without loosening them, and didn't dare to touch the little pig plush doll beside her.
Xu Chunian took out and tore open the outer packaging of the iodine swab, took out the swab dipped in iodine, but Zhuzhu dodged before it even touched her.
Xu Chunian said gently, "Don't be afraid. Applying the medicine will make it heal faster."
Only then did Zhuzhu stop moving and carefully looked her up and down.
When the swab touched the wound, Zhuzhu hissed and shrank back. Xu Chunian blew gently on it for her, "Blow, blow, and the pain will fly away."
Zhuzhu quietly reached out and grabbed the little pig plush doll into her hand.
"All done." Xu Chunian withdrew her hand, "Zhuzhu, what were you doing downstairs just now? Were you going to get something?"
Zhuzhu paused for a moment and pointed to the table beside her. Xu Chunian followed her little hand and saw that there was a piggy cup and a lot of toilet paper on the table not far away.
Xu Chunian got up. There were still some water stains on the table. Presumably, a water glass had been knocked over, but Zhuzhu had already wiped some with the toilet paper, so there were many water-soaked tissues on the table.
"Thirsty?" Xu Chunian turned to look at the little figure huddled on the ground, "I'll go get you some water."
With that, she turned and left the room. When she came back, Zhuzhu was still in the same position as before, staring blankly at the little pig plush doll in her hand, looking dull, like an exquisite lifeless doll.
Xu Chunian's heart twitched for no reason. She walked up to her and crouched down, "Zhuzhu, here."
Zhuzhu was still a bit guarded, and her fingers grasping the doll moved slightly.
Xu Chunian placed the water glass on the ground, "I'll leave it here. Will you drink it and then go to sleep?"
With that, Xu Chunian stood up, "Good night, baby."
Zhuzhu stared at her back, not knowing what was on her mind. Xu Chunian gently closed the door, leaving a small gap. After she left, Zhuzhu put the little pig aside, picked up the water glass, and perhaps being really thirsty, took a few big gulps but accidentally choked.
"Cough, cough, cough." Her little face turned red from choking. She put the glass on the ground by herself and covered her mouth to cough. Suddenly, she was embraced in a fragrant hug, and a hand stroked her back and patted gently.
Zhuzhu looked up in a daze.
When Zhuzhu choked, Xu Chunian's body reacted before her mind did. When she came to her senses, she had already hugged Zhuzhu.
The little one was in her arms. Even when choked, she didn't cry or make a fuss. When the water glass was knocked over, she cleaned it up obediently by herself.
Xu Chunian had a happy family with loving parents. She was a mischievous kid when she was young. Before she was 18, she had never thought about her future life. She thought that girls should be open and unrestrained. But her daughter's docility made her eyes water.
