I am slowly awakened by the light coming through the thin curtains, as if I were being gently pulled out of a dream. I momentarily lose my sense of my location. The space is strange yet cozy, with sunshine casting a gentle, golden haze over the tasteful furnishings.
The room has a subtle lavender scent that is both soothing and overpowering. It's too calm, like the silence is beckoning me to do action. The bed reminds me of the place I should have but haven't yet claimed because it is much too big for me.
I'm startled by the gentle knock on the door. I briefly question whether it's Alexander. However, when I open it, a housekeeper is standing on the opposite side of it with her hands clasped in front of her.
"Good morning, Miss Sophia," she smiles courteously over her shoulder.
"Good morning," I respond, my voice still sluggish from sleep.
