Chapter 20 - CHAPTER 20

The building looks very old, with small windows scattered across it,

almost as if it were made up of many tiny homes—like a collection of 500 small houses in one.

The paint on the building had completely worn off, and green algae had formed all over it, flowing down the walls.

A strong, unpleasant odor emanated from the building, but everyone went inside nonetheless.

Inside, an old man was waiting for them, holding a tray.

On the blue tray were keys to the apartments.

The old man handed a key to each person who had the registration slip, telling them that everyone listed on the paper would have to stay together in one apartment.

As Keroli and Helek move forward, the old man hands them a key as well, directing them to the 15th floor.

When they look toward the elevator, they see a large crowd, as everyone is using the elevator.

So, they decide to take the stairs instead.
