Chapter 15 - Eyes That Sees, Zhou Kang's Talent

Xianling City Martial Arena

The Martial Arena is where public battles are held and also a way to settle grudges.

It is also the place the three clans use when they host competitions and tournaments.

At this moment, the Xianling Martial Arena was almost packed to the brim.

Betting pools were already set up all around, and the reason for this shocked those who were just passing by.

Opposite the Xianling Martial Arena was a restaurant—the most popular restaurant in the city.

Moon Jade Pavilion

The Moon Jade Pavilion was a continental business that had branches all through the Xuanhuang Continent.

They were respected for having the best dishes and high-quality entertainment.

They also held certain gatherings that tended to draw many young and prominent people once in a while. It was one of their means of publicity.

"So it's just a battle between two low-level Cultivators?"

"Yes, that's what I found," a young man took a sip of wine as he responded.

He wore red martial robes, indicating that he was a core disciple of a sect.

Opposite him sat a woman in white who was covered from head to toe, revealing only her piercing yellow eyes that seemed to see through many secrets at a glance.

Even the young man dared not look at her eyes after a certain experience.

Also, behind this young lady was another woman dressed in an all-blue robe, the kind that was made for battle.

She wore a mask, and only by her body could one assume her gender. Although she stood there, to most people in the inn across the arena, it wasn't like a human was standing there at all.

"Shui Lian, do you want to go watch?" the lady in white asked the figure behind her.

"I would advise against it, Mistress. The one we are waiting for could show up anytime now," the lady in blue spoke, and the young man seated across finally looked directly at her.

But only briefly before removing his gaze. Terrifying, he thought.

He literally forgot that he wasn't alone with the lady in white and only now remembered that there was someone else.

The 'Mistress' did not respond to Shui Lian's suggestion and just kept looking in the direction of the arena.

No one could see the weariness and boredom in her eyes, which appeared for a slight moment before returning to their usual aloof look.

"My eyes tell me there is something. So let's go and see. Who knows, Shui Lian, it might just lead us to our target."

Shui Lian frowned slightly but still nodded.

The young man felt like a third, insignificant wheel but quietly sipped his tea to deal with being ignored like that.

'Am I that insignificant in her eyes? What background does she really have?' He wondered.

He wasn't an ordinary individual himself either.

His name was Yun Ke—the first rank on the Hidden Dragon List!

Soon after, they left the Moon Jade Pavilion and crossed over to the Xianling Martial Arena.

Back at the top floor of the Moon Jade Pavilion, a lady folded her fan and stood up from where she was seated.

She walked to the window and watched the departing figures with a thoughtful look on her face.

"Hmm, maybe I should go have a look too? What do you think, Chu Fei?"

---

Xian Tiandi stood with his hands behind his back on the battle ring, waiting for the match's acting referee to announce the start of the battle.

Opposite him, Zhou Kang stood in a battle-ready stance, eyeing him like a wolf.

It was as if he wanted to try and predict Xian Tiandi's moves ahead of time and take him down in one strike!

That's what was in Zhou Kang's mind.

'I will give you a taste of your own medicine!' He thought.

A rough-looking man stood in between them, and when he confirmed that both parties were ready, he announced the start of the match.

"Begin!"

"Ha!"

Zhou Kang was the first to move.

"Such speed. Can a Qi Refinement Realm Cultivator move so fast?"

"No, you've got it wrong. Look. This is pure speed, no Qi involved."

Someone pointed out, letting the ignorant ones become aware that Zhou Kang had embarked on body cultivation.

But then, this brought a question.

How can he improve so fast?

"Mistress, there's nothing to see here. It's just a battle between two inexperienced individuals. I doubt we would gain anything here."

Shui Lian tried to persuade her Mistress once more, while the mistress in question just ignored her.

Yun Ke, who stood beside her, actually looked a bit interested when he saw Xian Tiandi. He somewhat felt this fellow was more than he seemed.

'Interesting.'

Xian Tiandi stood calmly. In his eyes, Zhou Kang appeared rather slow. Because of this, he looked like he was unable to keep up with Zhou Kang's speed in the eyes of the spectators.

Zhou Kang arrived before Xian Tiandi, and his fist was already cutting through the air toward Xian Tiandi's face.

There was a silly grin on his face as if he could already imagine Xian Tiandi's face crushed under his power.

Swift!

Xian Tiandi dodged at the last instance, just before the punch could hit him.

Zhou Kang was surprised but didn't think much about it and quickly adjusted his momentum and directed another punch at Xian Tiandi's ribs.

Swoosh!

Xian Tiandi dodged again, and Zhou Kang increased his attack speed and frequency. With every miss, his eyes began to glow more and more.

His attacks became more refined, and his precision was becoming deadly.

The experts who were watching noticed this improvement and were surprised.

Some wondered if the youngster only began to show his fangs when he discovered that the opponent was no weakling.

Others believed him to be a prodigy who was only now discovering his talent.

Whichever the case, Zhou Kang was gaining support.

But another group of people noticed something.

Xian Tiandi had not moved from the spot he was standing in even once!
