Chapter 51 - Chapter 51: Return

Three days later, in the Hydra Base Office in Erg City.

"Today, I've called you all here to announce something important!"

Standing before the group, Wang Ye held a beautifully designed blue crystal pendant engraved with the Hydra insignia.

"Today, I am officially passing on the position of Captain of the Hydra Special Task Force, as well as the role of Chairperson of the Unified Council, to Alice. This crystal pendant is the unique symbol of the Hydra Captain and the Council's authority."

Handing the pendant to a stunned Alice, Wang Ye continued, "Today, I will leave this world and return to my original one. Unfortunately, I do not have the ability to take you all with me. Once I leave, this world needs a leader, and Alice, with her strength and leadership skills, is undoubtedly the best choice. I hope that after I'm gone, you will all follow Alice's orders and remember the Five Iron Laws!"

"Captain, I... I'm afraid I won't do well! Can't you stay?" Alice was caught completely off guard and found it hard to accept Wang Ye's sudden departure.

"There's nothing you can't handle. I trust in your abilities, and you'll have Hamm, Rain, Jill, and Peyton to support you."

The group stood solemnly, looking at Wang Ye. To them, he had been their protector, their hope, and even family. Hearing of his imminent departure filled their hearts with reluctance.

"Haha, there are still missions in my original world that I must complete. Now, I leave this world in your hands to safeguard!" Wang Ye laughed, embracing everyone one by one as tears welled in their eyes.

"Rest assured, Captain, we will protect this world!"

"We promise!"

After exchanging farewells, Wang Ye pushed open the door and stepped outside, with everyone following closely behind.

"Even if we accompany you a thousand miles, we must eventually part. Farewell until we meet again!"

With a crisp sound, a glowing spatial gate appeared before Wang Ye.

Alice, seemingly struggling with an internal decision, bit her lip and quickly walked up to Wang Ye just as he was about to step into the gate. She leaned in and kissed him deeply.

Seeing this, the others tactfully returned to the meeting room but couldn't resist peeking through the windows to watch the intimate moment unfold.

The kiss lasted for a long time before Alice reluctantly let go. Blushing and nestled in Wang Ye's arms like a delicate flower, she whispered, "Take care of yourself."

"I will. You take care of yourself too," Wang Ye replied, holding Alice tightly. He had already sensed her feelings toward him, and he reciprocated. Now that she had confessed openly, Wang Ye was happy to accept.

"They're all peeking through the windows. If you continue like this, it might be hard to lead the team in the future," Wang Ye teased.

Realizing this, Alice quickly pulled herself out of his embrace.

"Safe travels! I'll protect everything here and wait for your return!" she said, her eyes brimming with tears.

"I believe you will," Wang Ye nodded. Without looking back, he stepped into the spatial gate and returned to the Marvel world. He knew that if he turned back, he might not have the resolve to leave.

The group emerged from the meeting room, gazing in the direction Wang Ye had left, lost in thought for a long time.

Alice's expression gradually hardened with determination. Turning to the others, she commanded, "Don't you all have work to do? Get moving!"

"Yes, Captain!"

"Right away, Captain!"

In a Sealed Laboratory

Faint ripples stirred the air. Accompanied by a flash of pale light, Wang Ye appeared.

Looking around, he noticed a thin layer of dust on the floor and the tightly sealed doors, indicating the lab had been untouched for quite some time.

After ensuring there was no residual T-virus in his body, Wang Ye opened a spatial gate and returned to Allen Tower.

Allen Tower, Supreme Leader's Office

The office was spotless, its items arranged just as they had been when Wang Ye left.

Pressing a button on his desk, Wang Ye activated a communicator for Jon. Then he walked over to a wine rack, uncorked a bottle of red wine, poured himself a glass, and stood by the window, sipping slowly while overlooking the ever-evolving base below.

Soon, the sound of footsteps echoed outside the office, followed by a knock.

"Come in."

The door opened to reveal Jon in Hydra's signature black military uniform and Dr. Zola, unkempt as ever.

"Welcome back, Supreme Leader!" they said in unison, their expressions both respectful and joyful.

Seeing their unwavering loyalty, Wang Ye nodded in satisfaction.

"You've worked hard. How long have I been gone?"

"Supreme Leader, it is now early March 2008. You've been gone for 63 years," Jon replied respectfully.

Wang Ye: (⊙x⊙)

Suppressing his shock, Wang Ye nonchalantly moved to the sofa and sat down.

"Here is an overview of our development over the years. Please review it," Jon said, handing over a moderately thick folder.

Lighting a cigar, Wang Ye began reading the progress report while Jon and Zola stood by.

The report detailed how Zola had established a Hydra branch on the far side of the moon, completed in 1980. Since then, the construction of space battleships had been transferred to the lunar dockyards.

Research into advanced energy elements had also made significant breakthroughs, leading to the creation of five super-energy elements: WY6, WU8, WI10, WO20, and WP40. These powered the battleships and underwent five rounds of weapon upgrades.

The report also highlighted successful infiltration operations worldwide and the development of new energy-based weapons.

Satisfied, Wang Ye returned the folder. "Now, let me introduce you to a new colleague: Hamm!"

A mini hologram of Hamm materialized as Wang Ye tapped his watch.

"Hello, I am Hamm, the Supreme Leader's personal assistant. Pleased to meet you," Hamm greeted with a gentlemanly bow.

"I'm Jon, the Supreme Leader's deputy."

"I'm Dr. Zola, the Chief Research Specialist," Zola responded, both intrigued by Hamm.

Smiling at their introductions, Wang Ye explained, "Hamm is an advanced AI. From now on, he'll handle all research data management and factory automation operations. If you need me to review any files, just give them to Hamm—he'll ensure they reach me instantly, as long as I'm on Earth."

Turning to Zola, Wang Ye added, "I've brought something you'll find fascinating."

From his dimensional storage, he retrieved a sealed container holding T-virus samples and a vial of antidote.

Zola eagerly examined the samples with a handheld device. "This is incredible! The virus is extremely active and shows great vitality and aggression, similar to the *** array in the Super Soldier Serum. It might hold the key to developing an advanced serum!"

Pausing, Zola frowned. "But its infectiousness and lethality are extremely high. Even airborne particles can kill weaker individuals in minutes."

"Exactly. However, the T-virus can be merged with the Super Soldier Serum to neutralize these fatal flaws. Take good care of these samples, and be cautious in your research."

"Understood, Supreme Leader. I'll exercise the utmost caution!"

With that, Zola carefully carried the samples away, fully aware of the potential dangers despite the existence of the antidote.
