"Alice, just as she said, she has now found redemption and liberation. What we need to do now is to completely end this apocalypse!"
Wang Ye supported Alice, who nearly stumbled and fell, speaking in a gentle tone.
"I just feel like we could have saved her. Maybe living requires even more courage," Alice said, looking at Wang Ye. After integrating her childhood memories, her heart seemed to have become more sensitive.
Wang Ye handed Alice the antidote serum, entrusting this significant task to her.
"Meeting you has been the luckiest thing in my life. I will never forget you, Captain Ye!"
Alice took the antidote serum and smiled, a look of relief on her face. These past two months had been the most fulfilling and easiest time of her life, and today had been inevitable.
Due to the commotion caused by the explosion, the surrounding zombies began swarming toward the bottom of the pit like a tidal wave.
"You'll be fine! We will all bear witness to this moment!"
Wang Ye gave Alice a reassuring look. She smiled faintly, instantly outshining all the flowers, before the antidote serum in her hand fell to the ground. The serum quickly began to vaporize into the air.
"Let's hope so," Alice whispered before her eyes rolled back, and she fainted. The antidote serum was evidently purging the residual T-virus from her body.
As Alice lost consciousness, the swarming zombie horde collapsed like deflated balloons, instantly losing all mobility and falling to the ground.
Seeing such immediate and effective results, Wang Ye nodded in approval. He signaled Rain to carry Alice, opened a portal, and returned to the headquarters in Elge City.
Now that the antidote serum had been released into the air, it would quickly spread across the globe through airflow. Of course, this process might take months or even years.
Office
Wang Ye had changed into a comfortable, tailored black leisure suit. He reclined lazily on the sofa, eating grapes peeled by Alice herself.
"Rain, the follow-up work at the Umbrella facilities must be completed as soon as possible. Also, have the survivors at the eighteen survivor bases elect one representative each. Two days from now, they will convene in Elge City for a general meeting to discuss rebuilding and establishing a new order."
Rain nodded, carrying out his orders via her wrist-mounted micro-intelligence system, issuing one directive after another.
Alice, having known for half a month that Wang Ye was from another world, didn't mind. In fact, she felt fortunate. If not for Wang Ye's arrival, the apocalypse wouldn't have ended so quickly, fewer humans would have survived, and she wouldn't have gained a complete life.
Ham had been extraordinarily efficient. Within two days, he used existing equipment to convert all 80 captured Umbrella facilities into large-scale disaster-recovery factories, producing necessities for daily life.
As the antidote serum spread worldwide, almost all zombies had been neutralized, and the world once again returned to peace.
However, this peace was merely the precursor to the next wave of challenges.
During these two days, representatives from the eighteen survivor bases had been elected and arrived via portal at the new capital: Elge City.
After months of development, Elge City had tripled in size. Skyscrapers towered overhead, commerce flourished, and people brimmed with hope for the future. The city was vibrant and full of life.
New United Assembly Hall
The assembly hall was as large as two basketball courts, with a massive round conference table surrounded by exactly eighteen seats, now filled by the attending representatives.
Wang Ye, dressed in formal attire with impeccably groomed hair, sat at the head of the table, surveying each representative.
"The reason I called you here should be clear, so let's get straight to the point.
The bioweapon crisis has been resolved, and the Umbrella Corporation, the instigator, has been destroyed.
However, though they have been punished, the aftermath has been left to us.
Reconstruction is urgent, and agriculture, industry, and commerce must be restored to normalcy.
After experiencing this global catastrophe, the old order has lost its relevance. Therefore, we need to discuss and establish a new order together."
The representatives began debating the details of the new order.
Having been influenced by Hydra's indoctrination and having benefited directly from their assistance, all the representatives leaned in favor of Hydra. They voluntarily proposed allegiance to Hydra, renouncing any demands for power.
Thus, a centralized government, ruled by Hydra as the core authority, naturally came into being.
Wang Ye looked at this seemingly inevitable conclusion with a mix of amusement and helplessness.
"I didn't ask for this, but if you're not going to take the opportunity, what can I do?"
As the new order was enacted, the world resumed operation, everything proceeding in an orderly fashion.
There were no longer divisions based on race, geography, or language. The Earth truly became a global village and one big family.
Meanwhile, Wang Ye launched numerous satellites, creating a global high-speed information-sharing network.
Using public surveillance cameras, Ham conducted big data analysis to evaluate human behavior, preventing criminal activities.
All regional military forces were replaced with loyal clone soldiers. Equipped with smart contact lenses, they monitored every move, swiftly addressing any violations.
Headquarters Rooftop
A cool breeze gently brushed past as Wang Ye gazed at the prosperous city below. Standing at the pinnacle of power, he couldn't help but feel a sense of loneliness that came with being at the top.
"It's time. I should be heading back.
But before I leave, there are still a few things to arrange."
