Chapter 43 - Chapter 43: Hamm

The enhancement process went smoothly. Everyone felt as though they had been reborn, their faces lighting up with joy as the seemingly limitless power surged through their bodies.

However, the stronger they became, the more they regarded Wang Ye as an unfathomable force.

Thanks to Dr. Zola's optimizations, the serum's enhancement process was now completely painless. Moreover, the serum adapted to different body types based on gender, preventing cases of unwanted, overly muscular physiques.

Despite the serum's remarkable effects, Wang Ye himself had not undergone enhancement.

His body had already been fortified by the Space Stone, granting him strength far beyond what the super serum could provide.

"Captain!" the group exclaimed in unison, their voices filled with admiration and excitement.

Wang Ye nodded and said:

"It seems you're adapting quickly, but this is only the first step. Later, I'll teach you the essential skills every Hydra soldier must master."

An unexpected development soon emerged—Alice.

When she injected the serum, her prior infection and fusion with the T-virus led to a perfect integration. The T-virus lost its infectious and lethal traits while significantly enhancing her strength to five times the human limit. Additionally, she awakened telekinetic abilities.

This discovery was groundbreaking.

The super serum could perfectly integrate with the T-virus, refining and amplifying its benefits. This breakthrough might pave the way for future versions—VIII, IX, and even X—of the super serum.

With the enhancements complete, the tense atmosphere in the vehicle eased. The group began to feel that the future, while still uncertain, might not be as bleak as it seemed. Even in the apocalypse, they had one another, a glimmer of hope, and most importantly, a powerful leader to guide them.

The armored vehicle slowly entered Erger City.

Life in the city seemed untouched by the apocalypse. Office workers crowded the streets, and city televisions broadcast news of a supposed "nuclear power plant accident" in Raccoon City. Reports of zombies were dismissed as rumors or hoaxes.

Wang Ye parked the vehicle in front of a bank and instructed the group to stay inside while he entered alone.

Five minutes later, he returned.

"Each of these cards has a $100 million limit," he announced, handing out eight bank cards. "Take one each and split up to purchase supplies. We need a large fuel truck, a sizable cargo truck for food and water, a bus, and the most advanced news vehicle you can find. I'll handle the weapons. It's 8:30 a.m. now—rendezvous at the eastern outskirts of Erger City by 12:30 p.m.!"

The group stared at him in astonishment, but Wang Ye simply shrugged.

"This is all I've got, so stop overthinking and get moving!"

After dividing the responsibilities, the group dispersed in different directions.

Preparation for Battle

Wang Ye drove the armored vehicle to a secluded corner. Entering his dimensional space, he stood before rows of neatly arranged energy weapons.

"The second-generation X-type energy weapons should suffice for now. I'll take five handguns, two light sniper rifles, seven assault rifles, ten submachine guns, and four machine guns.

"That should do it. After the IV-type super serum enhancement, recoil shouldn't be an issue. I'll also grab some Nightmare Tear Gas, Reaper High-Explosive Grenades, and Amaterasu Flash Grenades."

Inside the vehicle, a small mountain of weapons began to pile up—all items Wang Ye had taken from Hydra's armory before traveling between worlds.

Sticking to a low-profile strategy, he refrained from bringing overwhelming weapons like tanks or superwar machines.

After selecting the equipment, Wang Ye visited a computer mall.

He purchased 50,000 enterprise-level servers in one go and bought ten large factory buildings to house them. Storing the servers in his dimensional space, he set up a massive server cluster and uploaded a heavily modified version of the Red Queen AI.

He named the new AI "Hamm."

Hamm's holographic avatar was that of a strong, charismatic butler in formal attire, with a weathered yet commanding presence.

(Note: Items replicated by the protagonist's abilities are wholly loyal and incapable of betrayal.)

"Done. With AI support, things will go much more smoothly from here."

Wang Ye checked the time—it was already noon. He drove the armored vehicle to the eastern outskirts to meet the group.

Eastern Outskirts

By the time Wang Ye arrived, the group had already gathered with their purchased supplies.

The armored vehicle approached like a beast, kicking up a trail of dust before coming to a perfect drift and halting smoothly.

With a cigar in his mouth, Wang Ye stepped out of the vehicle. Glancing at the group standing in neat formation, he nodded in approval.

Opening the vehicle's doors, he revealed the arsenal of energy weapons inside.

"Pick your preferred weapons. The extras will go into our reserve stock."

As the group selected their weapons, Wang Ye boarded a nearby sky-blue news vehicle. He installed Hamm's subsystem into the vehicle's onboard server.

The dark screen flickered before revealing the butler-like avatar of Hamm.

"Master!" Hamm greeted in a deep, magnetic voice.

Wang Ye nodded.

"Hamm, can you connect to the orbital satellites?"

"Yes, I have full access to Umbrella Corporation's systems," Hamm replied while syncing his database with Umbrella's files.

"Monitor Umbrella's actions and bioweapon research. Also, track the global spread of the virus."

"Master, the virus fully enveloped South America an hour ago and is spreading at a rate of 4,500 meters per second.

"Asia experienced a T-virus outbreak 30 minutes ago. In three hours, the virus will have spread globally."

Hamm's analysis, based on Umbrella's real-time monitoring, confirmed the dire situation.
