"Why was Jack acting like that? What did he say that I couldn't understand? And that change… that laugh… was it really Jack?" Becky muttered to herself.
She tried to sleep, but every time she closed her eyes, the strange scene replayed in her mind. She kept wondering if Jack was hiding something from her.
"If this isn't Jack… then who is it?" she questioned herself.
But there was no answer to her questions. The room was engulfed in a deep silence, like dark clouds gathering in the sky, ready to burst. Becky got up and peeked outside her window. Darkness had wrapped the entire hostel in its grasp.
"Jack, what did you do today? And why is this fear growing inside me?" she whispered softly and lay down on her bed again.
That night, the hostel echoed only with fear and unanswered questions. What would happen next? Would Becky uncover Jack's truth, or would Zain's darkness ensnare her too?
The Fearful Night and a New Revelation
Around 1 a.m., Becky lay restless on her bed, turning from side to side. She had tried hard to sleep, but her mind was crowded with unease and endless questions. The faint moonlight streaming through the window illuminated her face.
Finally giving up, she got out of bed and opened her window. A cold breeze brushed her face, but it failed to bring her peace. Becky grabbed a cigarette from her cupboard, lit it, and took a deep drag, staring into the darkness outside. Jack's changed expression and his sinister laugh echoed in her head.
"Jack… what are you hiding? And why is this happening only to me?" she muttered, exhaling smoke.
Meanwhile, somewhere far away, Jack sat in his room, clutching his head in his hands. His mind felt like it was about to explode.
Zain's voice reverberated in his ears.
"You saw it, didn't you, Jack? This is just the beginning. You'll have to endure it all because now I'm here. And I'll do what you can't."
Jack's head throbbed with unbearable pain. Nothing made sense to him. He couldn't even recall what he had just done with Rocky.
Inspector Arjun's Restlessness
Elsewhere, Inspector Arjun was sitting in his cabin, engrossed in solving the mystery of the missing college students. Four photos of the missing students lay on his desk, surrounded by notes written in red ink and piles of investigation files.
Arjun lit a cigarette, staring at the photos, and muttered,
"What happened to these students? No clues, just bloodstains… and even that blood vanished as if it dissolved into thin air. This isn't an ordinary case."
After some thought, he picked up his phone and called Becky.
Becky, still standing by the window, took a final drag from her cigarette when her phone rang. Startled, she looked at the screen—it was her uncle, Arjun. She quickly answered the call.
"Hello, Uncle… calling so late? Is everything okay?" Becky asked, trying to hide the nervousness in her voice.
Arjun's deep voice came from the other end.
"Becky, I need to talk to you about something important. This case is becoming more bizarre. You know four students from your college have gone missing so far. There are bloodstains everywhere, but no sign of their bodies."
Becky's breath caught. In a hushed tone, she replied,
"Yes, Uncle, I know. It's terrifying. But… how can I help?"
Arjun's voice grew more serious.
"Becky, these four students… did they ever have any major conflicts with anyone? Any enemies? Any reason someone might want revenge?"
Becky thought for a moment.
"No, Uncle. Our college has its share of pranks and teasing, but nothing major… not that I've seen."
Arjun pressed further, irritation creeping into his voice.
"Becky, you all study together and know each other well. Has anyone ever acted strangely or said something noteworthy?"
Becky racked her brain.
"No, Uncle. Everything seemed normal. Well, Rocky did bother people a bit too much, but…"
Arjun interrupted her.
"Rocky? He's one of the missing students. Did he ever say anything that might suggest he was in trouble?"
Becky fell silent. Jack's face and his strange behavior flashed in her mind. But she was too afraid to tell Arjun about it.
"No, Uncle. I can't recall anything like that," she finally said.
Arjun sighed deeply.
"Alright. If you remember anything, let me know immediately. And Becky… take care of yourself. This case is far more dangerous than it seems."
"Yes, Uncle," Becky replied as she ended the call, her mind swirling with fear and unanswered questions.
She placed her phone on the table and looked out the window again. The road outside the hostel was eerily silent. Yet, in that silence, she felt the distant rumble of an unknown danger.
What would happen next? Would Arjun unravel the mystery, or would Jack's darkness destroy everything?
