Chapter 3 - ch 4 Who is She?

I shifted back to my human form and scooped up the girl as she fell. She was clutching her chest, a deep stab wond gushing blood. I pressed my hand over top of it and mind linked my beta.

"She's injured, we need to take her to the pack doctor.!" I brushed her hair from her face, hoping to see her eyes again. Hoping to reassure her. To show her I was here. But they had fluttered shut after we first locked eyes. The hurt in them angered my wolf.

'HOW DARE HE HARM OUR MATE!!!' He roared in my mind. I turned to my beta, my anger boiling at him for not responding to me.

"Who is she my Cam? I don't recognize her scent, I don't think she's a Lycan, nor a-" I cut him off with a growl. He froze, then lowered his head. "Allow me to take her there my lord." He said back through the mind link.

I stood, holding her small frame in my arms. I mounted my beta, still putting pressure on her wond, I ordered him to run.

.........

Two days had passed and I was pacing in my office. My beta, Jackson, and my Gama, Theo, sat in chairs watching me.

"We've received knows from the southern most pack," Jackson continued, "the warriors wolf Mason has taken up the title Alpha and will be attending the meeting on the next full moon." He spoke slow, unsure if I was listening or not.

"That acounts for every pack that were in alliance against the crown," Theo retorted, more to Jackson than to me, " and since your brother gave blessing on the new Alphas, plus purging all who stood against the crown, we should be perfectly set for the Five Kingdoms presents in five months. "

I grunted, taking a seat at my desk and filling through some of the stacks of paperwork I had out, desperately try to calm my mind. My wolf continued pacing.

"On a different note..." Theo began, putting his attention back to me. "When will you complete the Luna ceremony with Angie? "

The atmosphere grew thick as I locked eyes with my Gama. He put his head down, knowing he'd angered me. After a long pause, Jackson cleared his throught.

"Cameron. Angela has stayed loyal to the crow and stayed with you through the uprising. She's a strong Lycan who's been trained to deal with official affairs, " Jackson leaned closer, meeting my deadly glare head on. Next to my brother, he was the only other Lycan that would brush past my anger. "She knows you. She knows the pack. She has the support of the people. Are you really willing to throw that all away over some girl?"

My wolf growled and stood, I fought hard to keep it at bay. Jackson, however, did not back down. He rarely did when it came to important decisions he felt I wasn't taking seriously. He stood with me, samcking Thoeo to say something.

"OH um... He has a point, Cam. We don't know who that girl is, or what she is. She could be working with the warlock for all we know."

"She's not." I said, pushing my wolf back and taking a deep breath to cal myself. "She's my mate. I can't convince my wolf to put her aside..." I looked away from Jackson. I knew they were right, but my wolf wouldn't listen to reason.

Since we had come back, I've fought with Fang to let me reject her. The warlock escaped our grasp because of her, because we stopped for her. For all I know it was magic that bound me to her, not the mate bond! But Fang grew angry at this, taking over and trashing my room before I finally gained control of him again.

"I have to speak with her before I decide anything.." i said, training off.

"And Angie? " Jackson said, "Doesn't she deserve an explanation?!" I saw his wolf rise to the surface, anger flashing in his eyes. Angela was his older sister.

"I will speak to the girl first." I said sternly.

Before Jackson could say anything, there was a commotion from the hall, then a desperate knock on my door.

"WHAT?" We all shouted in unison.

An omega fell in, breathing heavily.

"The girl is awake!"
