Chapter: Wrath of the Invincible
Adam stood amidst the chaos, his stark figure a striking contrast against the backdrop of explosions and crumbling structures.
His sharp senses honed in on the incoming jets—massive machines roaring through the sky like predators locked onto their prey.
Stripped of any clothing, Adam's bare form glowed faintly, a shimmering aura of energy radiating from him. He began to run.
At first, his pace seemed normal, almost leisurely, but within moments, his speed escalated beyond comprehension.
To any observer, he was a streak of light zigzagging across rooftops, weaving effortlessly through the battlefield toward the jets.
In the lead jet sat Wing Commander John, his stern gaze scanning the chaos. His sharp instincts screamed of danger as Adam suddenly materialized mid-air, directly in front of his cockpit.
The jet's speed was blistering, but Adam matched it with ease. He hovered mere meters from the aircraft, his fist clenched tightly, veins pulsating with raw power.
John's eyes widened in shock, his mind racing to process the impossible sight before him. He attempted to bank the jet away, his fingers gripping the controls, but before he could react, Adam struck.
With a swift punch, Adam's fist collided with the jet's nose, unleashing an unparalleled force.
The air around the impact rippled, the sheer pressure blasting outward. The jet disintegrated mid-air, fragments spinning out of control as the explosion lit the battlefield like a second sun.
John's body was thrown violently, lifeless, into the fiery wreckage below.
Adam remained motionless, suspended in the air, his gaze already locking onto his next target. He leapt with inhuman agility, landing on another jet speeding toward him.
This time, his hands gripped the stabilizing fin of the aircraft. The pilot inside fought desperately to regain control as the craft wobbled erratically.
With a swift motion, Adam tore the fin away, rendering the jet unstable. It began to spiral downward, plummeting toward the earth.
Adam leapt again, landing on another approaching jet. He held the torn stabilizer in his hand, his eyes cold as he hurled it like a spear toward two other jets flying in formation.
The stabilizer-turned-missile pierced through both jets in a single, lightning-fast motion. Both crafts exploded simultaneously, their debris raining down like meteorites onto the battlefield below.
Amidst the carnage, Adam descended, his body carving through the air like a comet.
He crashed into the ground with earth-shattering force, creating a massive crater upon impact.
The shockwave toppled nearby buildings and sent soldiers sprawling.
Adam rolled across the rubble, his bare skin stained with dirt and blood.
Rising from the crater, he surveyed the destruction around him. Soldiers scrambled, weapons drawn, as tanks rumbled toward him in desperation.
One soldier fired a bazooka, the missile streaking toward Adam with deadly intent.
The projectile collided with the invisible shield of energy surrounding him, exploding harmlessly. Adam turned his piercing gaze toward the soldier who had fired.
The soldier froze in terror as Adam vanished from his sight, only to reappear mid-air directly in front of him.
Adam's kick connected with the man's chest, the impact so powerful that the soldier was hurled backward, smashing through multiple buildings before landing in a lifeless heap.
Adam landed on the rooftop of the building, his eyes scanning the battlefield.
Despite their fear, the remaining soldiers aimed their weapons at him. Adam smirked, his voice calm yet menacing. "Persistent fools. You should have run by now."
He disappeared again, reappearing beside a group of soldiers. Before they could react, Adam struck.
His fist crashed into one man's chest, splintering bone and tearing flesh. Blood sprayed as Adam moved to the next, his hands a blur of lethal precision.
From a distance, the captain barked orders into his comms. "All units, retreat! Abandon the base!" His voice was firm, but fear laced his words.
Adam's gaze locked onto him. He vanished and reappeared directly in front of the captain, who stumbled back in shock.
The man raised his weapon, but Adam was faster. His hand pierced through the captain's chest, fingers wrapping around his heart.
With a brutal pull, Adam ripped the heart free, the captain's lifeless body crumpling to the ground.
Blood dripped from Adam's fingers as he turned to face the remaining soldiers. Panic set in, and they fled in every direction.
The tanks fired their cannons, massive shells exploding against Adam's shield.
He didn't flinch. Leaping toward the nearest tank, Adam landed on its front, his bare feet denting the thick armor.
With a single kick, he sent the tank hurtling backward. It flipped through the air like a toy, crashing into the ground with a deafening explosion.
The remaining tank operators abandoned their vehicles, running in terror.
Adam stood amidst the destruction, his senses heightened.
He could hear the frantic breaths of the fleeing soldiers, the distant crackle of fire, and the faint trickle of sweat down their brows.
His skin prickled with goosebumps as he glanced down, realizing his naked state.
Nearby, a soldier's discarded uniform caught his eye. Adam donned it quickly, the rough fabric scratching against his skin.
Suddenly, a faint sound reached Adam's ears—a rhythmic beeping. "Tom. Tom. Tom."The noise sent a chill down his spine.
He remembered the words of General Core, who had hinted at a self-destruct mechanism within the base.
Adam's mind raced. "There's a bomb," he thought, his fists clenching. Without hesitation, he bolted toward the base's edge.
Just as he prepared to leap, the ground beneath him trembled.
The first explosion erupted, a massive chain reaction ripping through the base.
The earth cracked open, swallowing everything in its path.
Adam leapt into the air, narrowly avoiding the expanding inferno.
But the force of the explosions disrupted his trajectory, flinging him violently across the battlefield.
He landed in a river with a thunderous splash. The cold water engulfed him, dragging his battered body into its depths.
Darkness closed in as Adam sank beneath the surface, the chaos above fading into silence.
