After properly planning everything, the group again formed a formation. There weren't any major changes compared to the previous one; only Dave went to the very back of the group and Eric wasn't included in the formation at all.
Eric with his sneaky movement and his ability to magically appear behind opponents using shadows made him a perfect assassin. He can assist at critical moments and also kill monsters before anyone, reducing the difficulties and also act as a scout.
"Guys, believe in yourself, we can do it." Dave cheered everyone optimistically.
With a nod, everyone marched towards the wolf pack. They only took ten minutes to discuss the plan and organize themselves, so the pack was still enjoying their meal, with the alpha not participating in it.
After they closed the distance, soon the male alpha noticed their presence. It bared its teeth and howled towards them. The female alpha and other ordinary wolves also noticed their presence and warned them.
Noticing their huge number, none of the wolves took action.
"Archers, attack." Dave immediately commanded after seeing their reactions.
This was the first part of the plan—taking the initiative.
Not even a second passed, and arrows flew towards the pack tearing apart the windy blizzard.
The wolves with their highly agile body dodged the incoming arrows perfectly, and the alpha wolves charged towards them without waiting like the previous fight with the Polar bear.
"Tanks, get your shields up and brace for the impact. Archers focus the arrows on the ordinary wolves, don't let them support the alpha."
"Dealers, don't spread out and stay as close as possible," Dave yelled, properly analysing the situation.
The fifty-or-so-meter distance between them was immediately crossed by the alpha pair. They raised their paws and struck the tank—which was blocking their way, intending to tear them apart.
But the tanks reacted just perfectly without delay and blocked the alpha's towards the archers and absorbed the impact perfectly.
Taking his chance, Eric disappeared into the shadows. The dealers also took their weapons and charged towards the alpha pair immediately.
Nova observed the situation and went near Rock to support him. Out of the five tanks in the team, Rock was the one who got the least support from the previous battles.
It wasn't because of any discrimination or distrust towards him, rather it was because of the faith that everyone had in him.
His strong body, technique and above all, his experience made him perfectly handle the situation all on his own. So, the dealers supported other tanks that had problems holding back the monsters.
But this battle won't be like the others, generally the wolves were cunning and smart by nature, so they would definitely eliminate threatening foes first, knowing this, Nova got behind Rock before anyone.
"Captain, I will have your back. Do your best." Nova said softly, encouraging him.
"Okay, get ready. I will stun the wolf and get ready to attack." Dave replied without turning back.
"AHHH" With a roar, Rock activated his ability.
Both of his hands got bigger, muscles swelled and became firm. In a matter of seconds, his small but strong arm became like a giant hand.
Taking his more than half a meter shield, avoiding the incoming attacks from the wolf, he launched himself towards the head of the wolf.
The wolf, seeing Rock's action, opened its mouth to devour him.
Seeing this, Rock smiled. "Stupid beast." He slammed his shield into its mouth and jumped on its head.
As soon as Rock landed on its head, the wolf shook its entire body violently, trying to throw him away.
Rock didn't have a perfect balance and he slipped on its body, but before he fell off, he raised his giant arm coursing through veins and slammed its head like a hammer.
Due to the sudden impact, the wolf lost its balance and crashed into the ground.
Rolling on the snow, Rock yelled. "Nova, now. Finish it in a single blow."
Hearing Rock's words, Nova drew his katana and launched himself towards its head. He also collected his spirituality towards his throat intending to stun the wolf at any moment.
Just before Nova closed the distance and struck, the wolf split the shield from its mouth and howled.
A fierce aura erupted from its entire body; a blizzard erupted with its body as a center.
The icy and strong wind blew both Rock and Nova away.
Rock was okay as he was already on the ground, nothing happened to him. But Nova who was in the middle of the air due to jumping, flew far away and crashed into a nearby tree.
