"Yes," Ye Feng nodded.

"Wait a moment—are you saying that you've awakened a Three Lives Martial Spirit?" Ning Fengzhi asked, his tone filled with disbelief.

"That's correct." Ye Feng affirmed.

Ning Fengzhi and Sword Douluo Chen Xin exchanged glances, their shock evident in each other's eyes.

"What is your third martial spirit?" Ning Fengzhi asked curiously, unable to mask his skepticism. It was hard to believe that such a phenomenon—possessing a Three Lives Martial Spirit—truly existed in this world.

Three Lives Martial Spirit...

If a soul master truly awakened this ability, it meant the potential to bear twenty-seven soul rings—an overwhelming concept.

Phew!

Such an existence would be terrifying.

"My third martial spirit is called the Eye of Hell," Ye Feng stated calmly, summoning it.

As he activated his martial spirit, Ye Feng's eyes turned pitch black. The dark, eerie color seemed to exude a chilling aura, as if staring into them for too long could ensnare one's soul.

"Three Lives Martial Spirit!"

"Three Lives Martial Spirit!"

Both Ning Fengzhi and Chen Xin exclaimed simultaneously, their faces frozen in astonishment. They stared at Ye Feng blankly until he retracted his martial spirit, the oppressive aura dissipating. Only then did they return to their senses.

"Uncle Jian, you've found a treasure this time!" Ning Fengzhi beamed with excitement, offering heartfelt congratulations to Chen Xin.

"Indeed, this trip to the Balak Kingdom was well worth it," Chen Xin replied, a rare smile gracing his face. His gaze at Ye Feng burned with intensity, as though he were beholding an invaluable treasure. "Ye Feng, you must remember this: you are never to reveal to anyone that you possess a Three Lives Martial Spirit. Publicly, you must claim that your martial spirit is an ordinary one tied to the Spirit Hall. Do you understand?"

"Understood, Master," Ye Feng responded obediently. Then, with a playful tone, he asked, "Master, can I add a soul ring to my third martial spirit?"

"Hmm?" Chen Xin was momentarily taken aback.

Despite his vast life experience, Chen Xin could tell Ye Feng was deliberately showing off. But even if Ye Feng wanted to stay humble, his abilities made it nearly impossible.

"Of course not," Chen Xin said sternly. "Your second and third martial spirits are special. You can only add soul rings to them after becoming a Titled Douluo. By then, both spirits must be imbued with soul rings of at least ten thousand years."

"Ten thousand years?" Ye Feng asked nonchalantly, though his tone betrayed subtle dissatisfaction.

Chen Xin didn't notice Ye Feng's reaction and continued seriously, "Yes. Once you reach that level, your strength will naturally skyrocket."

Shifting focus, Chen Xin summoned the Seven Kill Sword martial spirit, its aura radiating an indomitable power. "Disciple, come here," he instructed, beckoning Ye Feng to stand on the sword. Together, they ascended into the sky, landing on a nearby mountain peak.

Surrounded by lush forests and clear rivers, the mountain stood tall, an imposing obstacle. Chen Xin's expression turned serious, and a dazzling silver light filled his eyes. His aura surged.

"Watch carefully," he said, his voice steady.

Merging his soul power with the sword, Chen Xin embodied the concept of man and sword as one. With a single slash, he unleashed a massive blade of energy hundreds of feet long, cleaving the towering mountain before them in two.

Boom!

The ground trembled, the blinding light illuminating the landscape. A powerful shockwave rippled outward, leaving a wide path where the mountain once stood.

"Sword Douluo Chen Xin!" Tang Hao, observing from a distance, murmured in shock. The aura unmistakably belonged to Chen Xin.

At that moment, Old Jack emerged from the blacksmith shop, his cane in hand. "Tang Hao, I've decided. This year, the work-study spot in the village will go to Xiao San. He should attend Notting City Junior Soul Master Academy. As for the travel expenses, the village will cover them. Now, I'm off to see what caused that commotion."

Tang Hao didn't respond. Though he suppressed his curiosity, he couldn't fathom why Chen Xin would make such a bold display in Holy Soul Village.

Back atop the mountain, Ye Feng stared at the scene before him, dumbfounded. The once-towering peak, over a hundred meters tall, had been bisected cleanly. A road now led through it, an unintentional boon for the villagers.

"Did you see clearly?" Chen Xin asked.

"Yes... No... Maybe..." Ye Feng stammered, nodding and shaking his head alternately. The display had left him with mixed feelings. He remembered every movement but couldn't grasp its essence. It felt both tangible and elusive, an indescribable sensation.

"Don't overthink it," Chen Xin said, patting Ye Feng's head. "What you saw was Man and Sword as One, an ancestral soul skill of the Chen family. It took me ten years to comprehend. You must not share this technique without my explicit permission."

"Understood, Master," Ye Feng replied.

At that moment, Ning Fengzhi arrived.

"Very well, we're leaving," Chen Xin said. "If you insist on attending Notting City Junior Soul Master Academy, I won't stop you. Fengzhi and I have other matters to attend to, but we'll return to help you obtain your first three soul rings."

"Yes, Master," Ye Feng said obediently.

"Fengzhi, let's go," Chen Xin called, but Ye Feng stopped him.

"Wait, Master!" Ye Feng exclaimed.

"What is it?" Chen Xin turned back, curious.

"Well, uh... Master, do you have any money?" Ye Feng asked sheepishly.

"Money?" Chen Xin blinked in surprise.

"Yes," Ye Feng admitted, scratching his head. "The academy requires a registration fee. It's not much—just five gold soul coins. I promise to repay you once I can."

Both Chen Xin and Ning Fengzhi burst into laughter.

Still chuckling, Ning Fengzhi flicked his fingers, producing a black card from his storage soul guide. "This contains ten thousand gold soul coins," he said, smiling. "Use it as you wish. Consider it a gift from Uncle Ning. There's no need to repay me."
