Hyacinth POV
It was nerve wracking talking with Madam Longbottom, Neville was right that woman is scary. I looked at Dad for support before I turned back to Madam Longbottom and said, "Madam Longbottom I as heiress Potter would like to request a confidentiality vow from you and Heir Longbottom as what I am going to discuss with you has to do with family history and magics." She looked at me with a stern glare that would put Professor Snape to shame before looking to Dad who nodded to her before she turned back to me and said, "I will honor your request young heiress."
It took Dad, Uncle Remus and myself hours to explain all that we had found out between the vault and the outpost. Madam Longbottom and Neville were shocked to say the least Madam Longbottom even demanded to be taken to my vault before collapsing in tears. Neville just sat next to her attempting to comfort her, it was Uncle Remus who finally managed to calm her down with the promise that he would do all that he could to help Frank and Alice heal. Neville rushed to hug him after he said this and sobbed into his chest as Dad just hugged Madam Longbottom.
It wasn't long after Neville and Grandma Augusta (she insisted I called her that) calmed down that we made it to my vault where she opted for getting the download. Although she had mostly wanted to know the etiquette of our ancestors. She said it was so she could make sure that Neville and I had a proper teacher for the important things. After the download she got worse going on and on about intergalactic interaction protocols and things that I had deemed unnecessary so my brain had pushed that knowledge to the back of my mind for later processing. Dad found it utterly amusing and Uncle Moony was fascinated by the fact that even though the repository downloaded in full to all of us we each had a different part of said knowledge take up the forefront of our active thought processes.
Neville practically jumped for joy at all the different plants that the universe had. Obviously Uncle Moony took an interest in medical and genetic sequencing information, Dad was kind of a mesh between politics, etiquette and space warfare. I was a mix of everyone and then some minus the etiquette to some degree. Dad found it hysterical when Grandma Augusta came after me about proper posture for the future high chancellor. Neville nearly fell over in fright when she lectured him about how to dress properly, because she was determined to make him the future chancellor of plant and wildlife conservation. That was a plus side of the download she eased up on Neville when it came to her need to turn him into the second coming of her son his father.
She embraced his interests in herbology and botany and was now on a mission to make him the best in the universe in each perspective field. Honestly she was terrifying and Dad just laughed himself stupid while she chased us to bloody hell and back with her cane nipping at our heels as she 'educated' us in the manner she saw fit. She had her sweet moments though especially once we, and by we I mean mostly Uncle Remus started to do research on Frank and Alice's condition, she practically squeezed him to death. It was more involved than Uncle Remus' cure apparently so he has started in depth research and simulations on brain waves and neural pathway reconstruction. I understood all that he was saying thanks to the download but that didn't me I truly got what he was saying, biology was never my favorite subject and neurology never crossed my mind before the download.
What did interest me and Dad surprisingly was technology I wanted to devour all the knowledge in regards to that particular topic. Dad wanted to see how he could combine tech with magical energy or 'Potentia' as our ancestors called it. We would scurry off at the outpost to look through old records for experiments and blueprints, this led to us learning that the crystal potentia are organic and needed to be grown. Neville almost drooled after we told him and he joined us in an effort to be able to grow our own so that once our admittedly not so small stock of them start to shrink we have more to fill the void.
With all the new information at our fingertips and new allies we managed to gather quite a few supplies to help us in our endeavor to return to the stars. Neville and I talked about who we wanted to join us from the students in Hogwarts while Grandma Augusta took a look at some of the more neutral and light leaning families. We were in debates for some of the dark leaning families but hadn't mentioned anything to anyone outside of our group just yet. The best kept secret is better left unsaid, especially with Dumbles around. Speaking of Dumbles Dad and Grandma Augusta took to teaching us occlumency to keep him out of our heads much to mine and Nev's relief, I mean who wants a 100 year old man rifling around in your head, I certainly don't not after having that thing in my head all these years. All I want in my head is me thank you very much.
Uncle Remus finished his research for his lycanthropy cure by the end of June beginning of July, and with the help of Gran Augusta we had all the ingredients for the cure. It took a full week to brew the potion and then three days for the thing to settle before Uncle Moony could take it. We were closing in on the next full moon the potion had to be taken on the night of the full moon just before the moon rose triggering the transformation. Dad had to practically hold me down as Uncle Moony screamed as the potion worked to stop his transformation. His bones kept snapping and reforming, his body shook and hair grew then retracted back he howled and then whimpered as his transformation took place inside the wards keeping him contained incase this failed. Finally after what felt like hours of watching him suffer he shuddered and shifted form. Dad smiled and said, "He did it he turned his curse into a boon he is now a werewolf Animagus." just as he finished talking Uncle Moony shifted back into his human form with the moon still high in the sky overhead. Dad looked happy and thoughtful before he said, "I don't think I have ever seen Moony this happy, lets go give him the hug he deserves pup." With that we took off through the wards and tackled a laughing Uncle Moony to the ground as tears streamed down his face.
