Chapter 38 - Ch 37 - Clash of Titans

Liam's eyes narrowed slightly as he thought silently in his heart.

'He has grown way stronger than his self, I feel in the morning.'

"Well, well," Gojo drawled, his hands in his pockets as he surveyed the scene. "Looks like I missed a party. And here I thought I was the life of everyone."

Toji smirked, straightening. "You're late, kid. Cleanup's already done."

Gojo's eyes—now uncovered and glowing with power—locked onto Liam. "So, you're the one pulling the strings. You seem interesting."

Liam met his gaze evenly, unflinching. "I've heard about you. Satoru Gojo, the prodigy who is born with the Six Eyes and awakened Limitless. Impressive… And you seem to have mastered the Reverse Cursed Technique too. Well, it's all thanks to Toji anyway."

Gojo's lips curved into a slow smile, but there was no humor in it. "Hahaha... Yeah, you are right. I have to express my gratitude. But before that... What's your endgame, anyway? World domination? Revenge? Or are you just another power-hungry lunatic?"

Liam's expression didn't waver. "Why settle for domination when I can reshape the world entirely? This broken system, these clans, their rituals—they're relics. I'll tear them down and build something stronger."

Gojo tilted his head, his smile widening. "You've got ambition, I'll give you that. But ambition without strength is just a death wish."

Toji stepped forward, his grin predatory. "You think you're strong enough to stop us, brat?"

Gojo's eyes flicked to Toji, his voice calm but deadly. "You? No problem. But your boss…"

His gaze returned to Liam. "He's the real threat, isn't he?"

Liam smirked, taking a step forward. "You're perceptive. Let's see if you're strong enough to match."

The air between them crackled with anticipation, the tension thick enough to cut. Toji watched from the sidelines, his grin widening.

"This is gonna be fun."

The air within the building shifted violently as the tension between the three men hit its peak.

Toji's grin faded into a sharp, focused expression, his instincts screaming at him to take the situation seriously.

Across from him, Satoru Gojo's eyes burned with unparalleled intensity, his mastery of cursed energy radiating like an unstoppable force.

"Between heaven and earth, I alone am the honored one," Gojo declared, his voice carrying an almost divine authority. The words echoed through the large building, each syllable crackling with the promise of devastation.

Before Toji could react, a swirling vortex of cursed energy formed between Gojo's outstretched palms. The sheer pressure of it distorted the air, sending shudders through the ground.

"Hollow Purple," Gojo intoned, unleashing the technique with devastating precision.

A sphere of violet energy surged forward, its chaotic power annihilating everything in its path. It was faster than anything Toji had ever faced—impossible to evade.

And yet, just as the attack was about to make contact, Liam appeared in a blur, his hand gripping Toji's shoulder.

In the blink of an eye, they vanished, leaving behind only the faint shimmer of a mark glowing on the ground where they had stood.

Gojo's attack tore through the space they had occupied, obliterating an entire section of the beautiful building.

The force of it left a crater behind, debris scattering like confetti.

Liam reappeared a dozen feet away with Toji, placing him down with a nonchalant air.

"You're getting sloppy, Toji," Liam remarked, brushing invisible dust from his sleeve.

Toji scowled, but his gratitude was clear in his brief nod.

"That thing's not human," He muttered, eyeing Gojo warily.

Gojo straightened, his eyes narrowing at Liam.

"What is that technique?" He asked, his tone curious yet laced with suspicion. "That must be a forbidden technique. Where did you—"

Liam interrupted with a smirk, his gaze locking onto Gojo's. "Do you always ask questions you're not ready to hear the answers to, Gojo?"

Gojo's lips twitched upward, but the smile didn't reach his eyes. "You're interesting. I'll give you that. But you're playing with powers you don't understand."

Liam stepped forward, his posture relaxed but his presence suffocating. "Understand? Gojo, I've surpassed understanding. I don't just know these techniques—I've mastered them. Allow me to show you."

Gojo's instincts screamed as Liam's cursed energy surged.

In an instant, Liam's left eye shimmered, revealing a swirling red-and-black pattern—Kamui.

"You're not the only one with tricks," Liam said, his voice calm yet menacing.

Gojo acted first, raising his hand to activate Infinity, the ultimate barrier that rendered all attacks useless by creating an impenetrable gap between himself and his opponent.

Liam smirked. "Cute."

He stepped forward without hesitation. To Gojo's shock, Liam breached the barrier with ease, his movements unaffected by Infinity's effects.

"How—" Gojo began, but he had no time to finish. Liam was upon him, summoning a massive Susanoo. The towering, ethereal warrior loomed behind him, its shield gleaming with a golden glow and its sword shimmering with cursed energy.

Gojo's reflexes kicked in, and he dodged as Susanoo's blade slashed down, splitting the ground beneath them.

The ground trembled, cracks spreading like spiderwebs.

Gojo retaliated with a barrage of precision strikes, each imbued with cursed energy.

Liam countered with his shield, which reflected the techniques back at Gojo.

The two exchanged blows at a speed that defied comprehension, each move creating shockwaves that rippled outward.

Toji watched from the sidelines, his usual bravado replaced with awe.

"This kid... he is growing way too fast and..." he muttered. "Where did he learn Infinity... Fuck! My mind is going crazy… That bastard is actually dominating."

Realizing he couldn't rely on conventional tactics, Gojo unleashed his domain expansion: Unlimited Void.

The world around them shifted, plunging Liam into an endless void of information and paralysis. It was Gojo's ultimate technique, a space where his opponent's mind was overwhelmed to the point of incapacitation.

"You're strong," Gojo admitted, his voice echoing in the void. "But this is where it ends."

Liam's laughter rang out, shattering the oppressive silence of the domain.

"Is this what you call ultimate power?" He mocked.

With a single gesture, Liam's Kamui activated, distorting the space around him. The domain cracked, its oppressive energy dissipating like mist.

Gojo's eyes widened as Liam stepped forward, untouched.

"You're not the only one who can play with space," Liam said, his tone dripping with superiority.

Gojo growled, his frustration mounting. "Fine. Let's see you handle this."

He raised both hands, channeling his energy into a massive Hollow Purple—far larger and more destructive than the one he had used earlier. The energy roared as it coalesced, the pressure suffocating.

Liam didn't flinch. Instead, he summoned his own Hollow Purple, the energy forming with precision and intensity that mirrored—and even surpassed—Gojo's.

"What the hell…" Gojo whispered, his composure slipping for the first time.

The two Hollow Purples collided in a blinding explosion of light and energy. The shockwave obliterated what remained of the warehouse, leaving a smoldering wasteland in its wake.

When the dust settled, Liam stood unharmed, his Susanoo shimmering with a protective aura. Gojo was breathing heavily, his clothes singed, but his spirit was unbroken.

Liam raised his hand, as if to unleash another attack, but stopped short. He smirked, lowering his arm. "This has been fun, Gojo. But I think I've made my point."

Gojo's fists clenched. "Why stop now? Afraid you'll lose?"

Liam's eyes gleamed with amusement. "Lose? Hardly. I just have bigger plans than wasting time proving myself to someone who already knows the truth."

He turned, walking away with Toji following behind him. As they reached the edge of the battlefield, Liam glanced back over his shoulder.

"Remember this, Gojo," he said, his voice carrying across the ruined landscape. "Between heaven and earth, power bows to no one. It is I who chooses what stands and what falls."

With that, Liam and Toji vanished, leaving Gojo standing amidst the wreckage, his mind racing.

Gojo stared at the spot where Liam had disappeared, his jaw tightening. For the first time in years, he felt a flicker of doubt.

"Who the hell is he…?" He murmured.

The strongest sorcerer of humanity had been shaken to his core.
