Chereads / An Expert Assassin / Chapter 13 - Directorate of the Operations

Chapter 13 - Directorate of the Operations

Twenty-four hours after Remo decided to become an undisclosed agent, members of the CIA, M16 and SAS were having their quarterly quorum in a neutral secret underground venue in Langley, Virginia.

Its primary focus was to counter any threats of terrorism, espionage, and subversion.

The triumvirate alliance were working collectively under the Foreign Office and the Ministry of National Defense providing intelligence support, planning and operations all over the world.

On the conference table were the Director of the CIA, John Ashworth, and current US Secretary Jean Harp. From M16 with the Chief of Intelligence, Rick Alexander and by his Secret Service Bureau Chief Sir Chris Smith.

The SAS was represented by their Old Chief Mr. Colin Sinclair, Head of SAS and Aiden Smith known as "Dark Blade."

"Sir, we wanted to report the mission of our intelligence on the "drug king pin" target in Myanmar's Golden Triangle." Chief Colin Sinclair gestured on his opening remarks.

"That is a classified operation. Who's in charge?" Secretary Harp asked.

"We have a covert agent named 'The Hunter' in Mandalay. The timescale within two weeks' time!"

"The subject is Khun Saul, right? We can confirm he is no longer in our hit list when we received the declassified memo by SAS that they were on it." M16 Rick Alexander confirmed.

"And we would like to announce our agent is currently at the Bahamas operating a 'kill or capture' mission on a higher-valued terror suspect." The bureau Chief Chris Smith further explained.

"Jean, do we have any back-up team from that remote area in Mandalay?"

"Yes, we have well-equipped agents operating at Yangon. But the assignment is to identify any imminent threat after the coup." US Secretary Jean Harp informed.

"Since I understand a month ago that SAS mobilized the mission in Mandalay, what's keeping it up?" Colin pressed pointing the screen monitor tracking the offensive operations in the country.

"It was my assignment, Sir. But a new recruit comes in so I hand over to him!"

Aiden pulled the folder record of Remo Hunter and give the file to Director John Ashworth.

"Alright…alright! Everyone here knows the protocol that classified missions requires restricted information. But I need to repeat again, unconstitutional killing or conviction of mistaken identity is not allowed!" he said while reading the background of Remo.

"Unless of course it's necessary!" Jean seconded.

"Roger that, Sir!"

"Hmmm…Remo is a ghost. There's not much to know about his background!"

"It sounds crazy, but yes… We could not get any relevant information about him. Not even a soul in our database. But there's something about his personality. I can confirm he is a quality talent --- the best fit for the job!" Aiden asserted his conclusion.

The meeting goes on and on for hours touching agendas on other para-military covert tactics, the availability of fake plate number vehicles, airships, helicopters, drones, safehouses and their locations around the world.

These included the disguised rouge agents at refugee camps, in the mosque from other parts of the country and the ongoing killings at Kenya.

Everything was presented as part of the agenda and how to acquire or recover the available resources to be utilized by agents and spies when instantly needed.

The treaty agreement of the alliance was complex and sometimes collaborative.

But it was purely a process of acting to solve all issues from a defensive point of view.

Their operations was already spanning over a long decade. They need to understand some of their own bitterness and unconstitutional missions.

Because they are bidding to wage war against terror, it was sometimes deemed necessary and justly tolerated with the weight of the world in their shoulders.

The meeting was concluded after all the parties involved reached a decision.

Early Friday morning Remo woke up amid the bedlam.

He was steady while picking up his favorite mug, put a three-in-one and poured it with hot water.

The turn of events was predestined. It was now imperative for him to stay away after he became a military contractor.

His first assignment is a game changer and knows a week is not a long time to collect all the information.

Afterall, he knew where to find the man…

From reliable sources, Khun Saul should be locked in a particular place not far away from the restaurant.

Why is that so?

Easy…

It would not be a surprise when the 'opium king' was staying around a well trusted bodyguard by his side.

And the person holding the key was Mr. Kyaw Myint.

According to the previous deductions of Dark Blade, he was under surveillance for a week, yet could not pin point his location.

In reality, SAS was in the right place and the right directions.

Speaking of which, a no-nonsense trading of illegal activities can be simplified.

The overall picture of illegal drug trade covers the aspect of emerging trends like the traffic flows and its routes.

The modus operandi is to identify who is laying the eggs, securing the store, protecting the sensitive drugs and monitoring the traffickers most likely providing the distribution system.

The presence of Mr Kyaw Myint at the restaurant says it all.

His function is to communicate, secure the goods and the last line of defense.

The shoe fits it all…

Hence, the "king" may be nearby inside forests, underground chambers, underwater and abandoned tunnels to avoid being caught by militaries or drug enforces.

Regardless of the base camp location and stated purposes, the common theme was security, allure, and secretive existence.

It was designed in the event of being raided and war.

"I will come for you!" he said putting his worries behind.

While taking his shower, Remo has to make useful decisions to accomplish the new project in a shorter period of time.

At least he knew where to look at and feels cool like the water flowing over his body.

If he were at the office right now --- who would even think that he would be dealing a new mission on a very important person in the days to come.

And he could just lay low after his assignment was done.

Who will rat him out?...

Remo knows in the job site; he's just one of the engineers at the project.

He'll get a call from Mayi by phone, submit his report, make some inspection or his manager would call him when he messed up bad.

The thing is, he could just lay low and not worry about it after the hunting is finished.

The expats and the local people know who is the head of the "junta" in the country.

They know the Commander in-Chief of the "Tatmadaw Defense."

And maybe even know the cabinet members of the parliament.

They might even know who cook for them at the kitchen.

But they will never know the person down the chain who just made a top-secret matter!

Remo smiled with dominance. Surely, he was not worried!

It was past seven in the morning when he opened the bathroom.

"Whewww, I'm late!" he exclaimed
