Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

"Uncle, please let me go, my ma and pa would be worried."

The girl's voice trembled, and tears started streaming down her bruised face.

Her school uniform was dirty and torn, her pigtail heir disheveled from the struggle.

The man's response was swift and brutal - his hand cracked across her face with enough force to topple both her and the wooden chair she was bound to.

She hit the concrete floor with a sickening thud, a small whimper escaping her lips.

"Shut up! And when next I hear your voice I will cut off your mouth."

he snarled, pulling out his phone. His fingers danced across the screen as he pulled up a number.

with a cruel smile played on his lips as he waited for the connection.

At that moment the call was answered and without wasting any more time he went straight to the point.

"Listen carefully,"

he spoke into the phone, his voice dripping with malice.

"Your daughter is with me. I want five million dollars by midnight, or you'll never see her again. And don't even think about calling the cops - I have eyes everywhere."

Without even waiting for the little girl parent to respond.

The kidnapper ended the call abruptly, cutting off the desperate pleas from the other end.

He turned back to the girl, who had managed to squirm onto her side despite the ropes binding her to the chair.

"One more sound out of you,"

he growled, raising his hand threateningly.

"and you'll regret it."

Upon hearing what the man just said the girl's sobs turned to muffled whimpers, her small body trembling with fear.

But before the man could move toward her, the door swung open with a decisive crack.

Kai stood in the doorway.

Hearing the sound from behind the kidnapper stumbled backward, his hand instinctively reaching for the gun at his waist.

"How... How did you find this place?"

he demanded, his voice wavering between anger and fear.

'Nobody knew about this location - it had served me well for years, hidden away from prying eyes.'

He said to himself quietly.

At that moment Kai's lips curved into a cold smile. His eyes, now glowing with an otherworldly blue tint, fixed on the man like a predator sizing up its prey.

"Evil-doers have nowhere to run when light finally shines in the darkness."

Kai said with a deadly voice then he pointed to the little girl.

"I've come for the girl,"

Kai stated calmly, his enhanced eyes scanning the room, noting every detail - the girl's terrified expression, the damp walls, the single flickering bulb overhead. "Your reign of terror ends today."

Upon hearing what Kai just said the kidnapper's face twisted into an ugly sneer, sweat beading on his forehead despite his show of confidence. His hand trembled slightly as he raised the gun, pointing it at a Kai.

And without thinking twice he pulled the trigger.

"BANG!"

" BANG!"

"BANG!"

Three shots echoed through the confined space, making the little girl scream and squeeze her eyes shut.

The kidnapper's triumphant grin lasted only seconds before morphing into wide-eyed disbelief, as the bullets clinked harmlessly to the floor.

'The system wasn't lying about this uniform, it's a bulletproof'

Kai thought, with a surge of confidence flowing through him as he watched the kidnapper's facade crack.

"What... What the hell are you?"

the kidnapper stammered, his eyes darting between Kai's impassive face and the undamaged uniform. His hand shook more violently now as he stared at his gun, before throwing it aside.

The metal clattered against the concrete floor, the sound echoing off the walls. The kidnapper's face suddenly hardened, his initial fear transforming into something more dangerous.

"No matter,"

he growled, rolling his shoulders back as he shifted his stance. His feet spread apart, his hands raising into a practiced fighting position. Years of training were evident in his every controlled movement.

"I don't need a gun to deal with the likes of you, who think so little bulletproof uniforms can save you."

"I'm a fifth-degree black belt in Judo,"

he boasted, his chest puffing out slightly. His confidence seemed to grow with each word, perhaps remembering past victories. "Coming here alone?"

His lips curled into a predatory smile.

"That was your last mistake, but you will not end up making such again, because it's going to be your last"

At that moment Kai remained motionless, internally amused by the man's bravado. The system's enhancements hummed through his body, making him acutely aware of every muscle, every potential movement. The kidnapper might have years of training, but Kai now had something far beyond human limitations.

'Let's see how your Judo holds up against the power of Nemesis,'

Kai thought to himself, his own lips curving into a slight smile that made the kidnapper's confident expression falter for just a moment.

At that moment without wasting any more time, the kidnapper lunged forward, his technique polished but predictable.

Kai saw every move before it happened, his enhanced reflexes making the man's attacks seem almost laughably slow.

Years of martial arts training meant nothing against Nemesis power.

Each of Kai's strikes carried the weight of his fury - for this girl, for all the other victims, for every moment of injustice he'd been forced to watch from behind a badge.

His fist connected with the kidnapper's jaw, sending him stumbling backward. Before he could recover, Kai's knee drove into his stomach, forcing the air from his lungs in a pained gasp.

"Not so confident now, are you?"

Kai growled, landing another devastating blow that cracked at least two ribs.

However the kidnapper tried to counter, but his movements were becoming desperate, sloppy. Blood trickled from his split lip, his eyes wide with growing terror as he realized he was completely outmatched.

He couldn't land a single hit on Kai - it was like fighting a shadow.

With a final swift combination, Kai brought the man crashing to the concrete floor.

The kidnapper lay there, broken and whimpering, all pretense of strength gone. His face was a mess of bruises, one eye already swelling shut.

At that moment Kai walked to corner he bent down slowly, picking up the discarded gun. The metal felt cold in his hand as he turned to face the man who had caused so much suffering.

The weapon's weight seemed to carry all the responsibility of what he knew he had to do.

Seeing Kai walking towards him with a gun in his hand, the kidnapper one eye widened.

"Please,"

the kidnapper sobbed, raising his trembling hands.

"Please, I'll turn myself in to the Cops. I'll confess everything. Just don't-"

[No mercy!]
