Chapter 11 - Chapter 11

Upon seeing the system's last message Kai got really excited and rage warred in his chest, making his hands tremble slightly. The dried sweat from training still clung to his skin, but personal comfort meant nothing now. Not when he was this close.

"I'm not going to take my bath, I want that bastard gone"

He said to himself, without wasting any more time, he came out from his house and said.

"Storage: Power Bike,"

he commanded, his voice rough with anticipation. The interface flickered, and his super bike materialized - sleek, deadly, perfect. Blue energy patterns crawled across its surface like living circuits.

"This ends tonight, Leo. No more running. No more hiding, no more deceiving of others."

Then he went inside to put on his dress then came out.

Immediately the bike's engine purred to life with just a thought, its vibrations syncing with his enhanced nervous system.

The navigation interface painted his route in cool blue lines across his vision.

"Soon you will see me where you're hiding, you bastard,"

Kai muttered as he carved through the city streets. Each mile that passed stoked his fury higher.

The cramped urban landscape.

When the system's marker finally stopped, Kai then parked his super bike and came down.

"This can't be right..."

he whispered, staring at the warehouse before him.

His size stretched across perfectly landscaped grounds. Armed guards -at least eight that he could spot - patrolled every concern with military precision.

"No wonder after many years Searching for that beast in the less privileged side of the city, who could have thought here was also his hiding place, and from the look of things it seems it's their mean Operation center, the system doesn't fail."

Kai murmured to himself with dead eyes.

immediately without wasting anymore time his enhanced vision picked up details that made his stomach turn.

Security cameras with thermal imaging. Motion sensors in the trees, and security lights moving sideways.

"All this time,"

Kai thought, bile rising in his throat.

"While we worked together, ate together, and trusted you... you were building and working in this place with innocent blood."

He counted three luxury cars in the circular driveway alone. A children's playground stood empty in the moonlight, looking obscenely out of place.

"Living like a king,"

Kai spat, his lips getting tighter by the minutes.

"All of you are busy enjoying While families are torn apart. While children disappear, and are forcefully taken from their families without any trace."

He Still couldn't believe this was where all the illegal business was taking place.

At that moment Kai melted into the warehouse shadows, his enhanced vision painting the darkness in shades of blue.

The vast space stretched before him, filled with shipping containers that reeked of illegal cargo.

His interface highlighted moving heat signatures everywhere - guards making their rounds with military precision.

"Fifteen men,"

he counted silently.

"All armed. Professional stances. Ex-military maybe?"

He didn't want to make any noise that would result in them being aware of him.

At that moment he crouched behind a crate, mapping out possible routes to get inside the warehouse that looked like a mansion unnoticed.

"I could slip past them. Save my strength for—"

[Kill all of them]

The system's command blazed across his vision, brooking no argument.

A familiar weight materialized in his hands - the special silencer gun, its surface absorbing what little light reached it. The weapon seemed to whisper to him, promising swift justice.

"So much for stealth,"

Kai thought, with a cold smile spreading beneath his hood.

"But maybe this is better. No loose ends. No witnesses. No one to warn Leo, everything ends here and quickly."

At that moment his enhanced hearing started picking up their conversations.

"Perimeter check clear."

"Section B secured."

"Man, this guard duty is boring..."

At that moment Kai eyes Squinted

" It's going to be your last job."

Kai said to himself grimly, stepping from the shadows and getting close to them very quickly and none of them could react.

The silencer made soft death whispers.

"pfft!"

"pfft!"

"pfft!"

His system interface highlighted each target in succession, marking kill shots with clinical precision.

Bodies dropped like puppets with cut strings. Some never even knew what hit them. Others had just enough time to widen their eyes in shock before joining their colleagues on the cold concrete floor.

"This is what real training looks like,"

Kai said, remembering the amateur gunmen from the supermarket. These men were professionals, but against Nemesis's power, they were nothing but targets.

Kai continued gunning down the rest of the men.

Kai stalked through the warehouse, inside looking like death itself.

His enhanced hearing picked up whimpers and screams from somewhere below.

"How many families have you destroyed to enrich yourself, Leo?"

At that moment the last guard cowered in the kitchen's corner, his designer security uniform now soaked with sweat.

Kai pressed the silencer against his throat, feeling the man's pulse racing.

"The master's quarters,"

Kai's voice was barely more than a growl.

"Where is he?"

The man never wanted to say anything but look at Kai face and the manner in which he was Caught off guard made him answer the question without thinking.

"Up... upstairs,"

the guard choked out, urine staining his pants.

"Third... third door on the—"

The silencer whispered once more.

"pfft!"

*

The cold room's heavy door is sealed with a pneumatic hiss.

And a man came out with the look on his face one could tell he wasn't happy.

He strode into his living room, stopping short at the familiar figure waiting there.

Detective Leo stood from the leather armchair, offering a deep, respectful bow.
