Prologue: The Darkness That Bind

In the depths of eternity, a thirst for power ignited.

Animus, ambitious and ruthless, sought to dominate Castrum. She sought out forbidden knowledge, delving into dark arts.

Zha'thik, a demon from the void, sensed Animus' ambition. He presented himself, offering unimaginable power.

"Rule Castrum, and beyond," Zha'thik promised. "Make a pact with me, and the Carnifex shall serve you."

Animus, blinded by ambition, accepted.

With a drop of her blood, the pact was sealed.

The Carnifex, twisted creatures born from darkness, arose.

Their purpose: to serve Animus, enforcing her rule.

But Zha'thik's true intentions remained hidden.

The Carnifex would eventually turn on Animus, binding her to their will.

Azazela, a cunning witch, discovered the pact. She manipulated Animus, fueling her obsession.

Together, they unleashed the Carnifex upon Castrum.

The city trembled.

And so, the shadows waited...
