It was a quiet afternoon in Mondstadt, and the gentle breeze carried the scent of flowers and fresh parchment through the streets. The sun shone softly, its warmth just enough to encourage a relaxed day. Lisa had decided that today was the perfect day to spend some quality time in the library, reading and catching up on the latest records and books. But, of course, today wasn't going to be an ordinary day in the library—because she had Misdreavus by her side.
Lisa had always been fond of the peaceful atmosphere of the library. She enjoyed organizing the shelves, helping the citizens find the right books, and losing herself in her own studies. Today, however, Misdreavus seemed particularly restless. It floated above her head, phasing through bookshelves and making the books rattle slightly as if it was trying to amuse itself.
"My, my, Misdreavus. Can you sit still for a moment?" Lisa asked in her usual gentle tone, her lips curling into a soft smile. She turned a page in the book she was reading and glanced up at her partner.
Misdreavus let out a mischievous giggle and floated down, its ghostly tendrils swirling playfully. Lisa sighed, giving it an affectionate look. "I suppose you're right. Staying in one place all day does sound boring. How about we do something more... interactive?"
The ghostly Pokémon responded with an excited cheer, twirling in the air.
Lisa closed her book, carefully placing it on the table before she stood up. "Alright then, let's find something fun to do."
---
Meanwhile, just outside the library, Amber was chatting with Lumine and Paimon. Pikachu was perched comfortably on Lumine's shoulder, and Swablu was nestled on top of Amber's head, fluffing its feathers.
"So, Lumine, what are you two up to today?" Amber asked, her eyes bright with curiosity.
"We were just thinking of finding something relaxing to do," Lumine replied, smiling. "Paimon suggested we head to Good Hunter for some snacks, but I thought maybe we could do something a little more... enriching."
Paimon crossed her arms, pouting slightly. "Paimon thinks that snacks are very enriching!"
Amber laughed, giving Paimon a friendly pat on the head. "How about we check out the library? I bet Lisa could use some company. Plus, there are all sorts of interesting books there—maybe something about Pokémon!"
Pikachu's ears perked up at the mention of Lisa and the library, and it gave an enthusiastic "Pika!" in agreement.
Lumine nodded. "That sounds like a great idea. Let's go see what Lisa and Misdreavus are up to."
---
The library was as tranquil as ever when Amber, Lumine, and Paimon stepped inside. They were immediately greeted by Lisa's voice, which floated from one of the far corners of the library.
"Ah, darlings, what a lovely surprise. Are you here for some reading material, or just to brighten up my day?" Lisa asked with a playful smile, her Misdreavus floating beside her and mimicking her tone.
Amber grinned, walking over to her. "We thought we'd come and say hi! Plus, we were wondering if you had any books about Pokémon. We're still learning so much, and it would be great to know more."
Lisa tapped her chin thoughtfully. "Books about Pokémon, you say? Let me see... I might have a few things that Hiroshi shared with me. They're still quite new to us, after all. Why don't we all have a look together?"
As Lisa turned to search the shelves, Misdreavus floated around Amber and Swablu, its ghostly giggle making Swablu fluff up in surprise.
"Misdreavus, behave," Lisa chided lightly, though her eyes were amused. "Not everyone likes surprises as much as you do."
Paimon floated over to Misdreavus, her hands on her hips. "Hey! No scaring Swablu! Paimon will have to show you who's boss!"
Misdreavus stuck out its tongue playfully before floating back to Lisa's side, clearly enjoying the attention.
Amber laughed, patting Swablu on the head. "It's okay, Swablu. Misdreavus is just being playful. Let's all sit down and see what Lisa finds."
---
A few moments later, Lisa had gathered a small stack of books, each one filled with information about Pokémon. Some were general guides, while others seemed to be more specialized—like one about the different types of berries and their effects on Pokémon.
"This one might be of interest," Lisa said, handing a book to Lumine. "It talks about the bonds between trainers and Pokémon, and how they can grow stronger through different activities. It might give you some ideas for training Pikachu."
Lumine took the book, her eyes lighting up. "Thank you, Lisa. I've been wanting to learn more about how to help Pikachu grow stronger."
Amber picked up another book, flipping through the pages. "Look at this one, Lumine! It talks about Flying-type Pokémon like Swablu. It even has some training tips!"
Swablu chirped happily, flapping its wings as it looked at the book with Amber.
Paimon, meanwhile, had picked up a colorful book filled with pictures of different Pokémon. She gasped as she flipped through it. "Look at all these cute ones! Paimon wants one of each!"
Lisa chuckled, her eyes softening. "Perhaps one day, Paimon. Pokémon come in all shapes and sizes, and each one has its own personality. That's what makes them so special."
As they continued to read, the library door creaked open, and Kaeya strolled in, his ever-present smirk on his face. Zorua was right behind him, its eyes gleaming with mischief.
"Well, well, what do we have here? A study group?" Kaeya asked, his voice filled with amusement.
Amber waved him over. "Hey, Kaeya! We're just reading up on Pokémon. There's so much to learn, and Lisa's been helping us find the best books."
Kaeya raised an eyebrow, glancing down at Zorua, who was already eyeing Misdreavus with an interested gleam. "Perhaps Zorua and I could join in. Zorua seems to have taken quite an interest in Misdreavus."
Misdreavus floated up, tilting its head curiously at Zorua. The two Pokémon stared at each other for a moment before Zorua transformed—this time into a perfect copy of Misdreavus, down to the eerie, playful giggle.
Lisa raised an eyebrow, clearly impressed. "It seems Zorua is quite talented at mimicry. My, my, Kaeya, you've got a clever one on your hands."
Kaeya chuckled, giving Zorua an affectionate pat. "Yes, Zorua does like to show off. I think it just enjoys the attention."
---
The rest of the afternoon was spent in a mix of reading, laughter, and lighthearted chaos. Zorua and Misdreavus had decided to make it their mission to play pranks on everyone—often by transforming into one another or phasing through the shelves to knock over books. Paimon, of course, was the main target, much to her chagrin.
"Hey! Stop that, you two! Paimon is trying to read here!" she yelled, waving her arms at the mischievous Pokémon.
Amber couldn't stop laughing, tears forming at the corners of her eyes. "It's okay, Paimon. They're just having fun. Besides, it's kind of cute seeing them work together."
Lumine smiled, watching as Pikachu joined in the fun, chasing after Zorua-Misdreavus and letting out small sparks of electricity in mock anger. "It's amazing how well they all get along, even though they're so different. It's like they've all become friends in their own way."
Lisa, her voice still soft but filled with warmth, nodded. "That's the beauty of Pokémon, dear. They bring people—and each other—together. Bonds are forged through moments like these, whether it's through training, playing, or even a bit of harmless mischief."
Kaeya leaned back in his chair, his smirk softening into a genuine smile. "I couldn't agree more. Zorua may be a handful, but I wouldn't trade it for anything."
---
As the sun began to set, the group slowly began to pack up. The library was a bit messier than it had been at the start of the day, but Lisa didn't mind. The laughter and joy that had filled the space made it worth it.
"Thank you for spending the day here, everyone," Lisa said, her voice gentle. "It's not often the library is filled with so much... energy."
Amber grinned. "We should do this more often! Maybe next time, we can bring more Pokémon and have a bigger study group."
Paimon floated up, her eyes wide with excitement. "Yeah! And maybe we can bring snacks too! Paimon would learn a lot more with some tasty treats around!"
Lumine laughed, patting Paimon on the head. "Alright, Paimon. We'll see what we can do."
Kaeya gave Lisa a nod of thanks. "Until next time, Lisa. Come on, Zorua. Let's leave Misdreavus in peace for now."
Zorua transformed back into its original form, giving Misdreavus a playful wink before trotting after Kaeya.
Lisa watched them go, her heart full. She looked down at Misdreavus, who was now resting on her shoulder, looking content. "Ready to clean up, my dear?"
Misdreavus let out a happy sigh, and Lisa smiled. It had been a wonderful day, filled with bonds and laughter—just the way she liked it. And she knew that with each passing day, Pokémon were becoming more and more a part of Mondstadt's heart.
