Chapter 47 - Chapter 47: Klee's First Pokémon - A Sparkling New Friend

It was another bright and cheerful morning in Mondstadt. The sun bathed the city in a warm, golden glow, and the people bustled about their daily activities. Today, however, had a special spark in the air, especially for one little girl who was running excitedly across the plaza towards the Pokémon shop. That little girl was none other than Klee, the pint-sized Spark Knight of the Knights of Favonius.

"Hiroshi! Hiroshi! I'm here!" Klee called out as she burst into Hiroshi's Pokémon shop, her eyes wide with excitement. Her bright red hat bobbed up and down as she approached the counter, her backpack filled with the usual assortment of trinkets—and perhaps a few bombs.

Hiroshi turned around, a welcoming smile on his face. "Well, well, if it isn't Klee. I've been expecting you. Today's a big day, isn't it? Ready to meet your new Pokémon partner?"

Klee nodded furiously, her eyes practically sparkling. "Yes, yes, yes! Klee wants a Pokémon that can go 'boom' like Klee! A real explosive buddy!"

Hiroshi chuckled, exchanging an amused look with Zekrom, who was hovering silently in the corner of the shop. "Well, I think I have just the Pokémon for you, Klee. Follow me."

Klee practically skipped after Hiroshi, her excitement uncontainable. They walked over to a display of Poké Balls, each one labeled carefully with the species inside. Hiroshi picked up a specific Poké Ball and handed it to Klee.

"This, Klee, is a Voltorb. It's an Electric-type Pokémon, and it has a knack for... well, let's just say it likes surprises, too," Hiroshi said, a playful glint in his eye.

Klee's eyes widened as she stared at the Poké Ball. "Voltorb? It likes surprises? Like bombs?!" she asked, her voice filled with awe.

Hiroshi nodded. "Something like that. But remember, Klee, Pokémon are partners. You need to take care of it, train with it, and make sure it's safe. Think you can do that?"

Klee's face turned serious for a moment as she thought about it. Then, she nodded again, her determination evident. "Yes! Klee will take good care of Voltorb! We'll be best friends, and we'll make lots of booms together!"

Hiroshi smiled, ruffling Klee's hair. "That's the spirit. Go ahead, let Voltorb out and say hi."

Klee eagerly pressed the button on the Poké Ball, and in a flash of light, a round, red-and-white Pokémon appeared. Voltorb blinked up at Klee, its expression almost as curious as hers.

"Whoa! You're just like a big Poké Ball!" Klee exclaimed, crouching down to get a better look at her new partner. Voltorb gave a small, crackling zap, as if to say hello.

"Hee-hee! You're perfect! We're going to have so much fun, Voltorb!" Klee giggled, reaching out to pat Voltorb gently.

Later that day, Klee, Lumine, and Amber decided to take Voltorb to Windrise to let it get some exercise and see what it could do. Lumine had Pikachu with her, and Amber brought Swablu along for the adventure.

"Klee, you have to be careful with Voltorb. It's known for being a little... volatile," Amber cautioned, watching as Klee led Voltorb along the path, her red eyes wide with excitement.

Klee looked over her shoulder, nodding eagerly. "Don't worry, Amber! Klee will be careful! Right, Voltorb?"

Voltorb crackled with electricity, almost as if in agreement. Lumine couldn't help but smile at Klee's enthusiasm, though she did keep a careful eye on the round Pokémon. Pikachu trotted alongside her, its cheeks sparking slightly as it eyed Voltorb with curiosity.

"Let's see what Voltorb can do!" Klee said, stopping near an open area. She looked at Voltorb, her expression full of excitement. "Voltorb, can you make a boom? A little one?"

Voltorb looked up at Klee, then at the ground in front of it. It began to crackle with electricity, and then, with a small burst, it released a Shock Wave that sent a few leaves scattering into the air.

Klee clapped her hands, her face lighting up with joy. "Yay! Look at that! You did it, Voltorb!"

Amber laughed, her eyes twinkling. "That was impressive, Klee! But remember, Voltorb is still learning, so make sure you don't push it too hard, okay?"

Klee nodded vigorously. "Got it! Klee will make sure Voltorb is happy and not too tired! Right, Voltorb?"

Voltorb gave a crackling sound, its version of a cheerful response, as it rolled around Klee in circles.

---

As the sun began to lower in the sky, the group decided to take a break under the massive tree at Windrise. Amber spread out a blanket, and everyone settled down to rest, with their Pokémon lounging nearby.

Pikachu and Voltorb seemed to be getting along quite well—Pikachu even tried teaching Voltorb how to roll more smoothly without losing balance. Swablu, meanwhile, perched comfortably on a branch, preening its feathers while keeping an eye on the others.

Klee lay on her stomach on the blanket, her feet kicking in the air as she watched Voltorb practice its rolling. "Lumine, do you think Voltorb and Pikachu could do a combo move together? Like... a super shocky boom?!"

Lumine laughed, shaking her head. "Maybe someday, Klee. Right now, let's focus on helping Voltorb learn some basic moves. Pokémon need time to grow and get stronger."

Klee nodded, her eyes filled with determination. "Okay! Klee and Voltorb will train really hard! We'll be the best at making booms—uh, I mean, battling!"

Amber smiled, leaning back on her hands. "You know, Klee, having a Pokémon isn't just about battles. It's also about having a friend who's always there for you. Someone who'll help you when you're feeling down or when you need a boost of energy."

Klee looked at Voltorb, her expression softening. "Yeah... like how Dodoco is always there for Klee. Voltorb is like a new friend—another friend to go on adventures with!"

Voltorb crackled in agreement, rolling closer to Klee and nudging her gently.

---

Just then, Kaeya appeared, strolling towards them with Zorua trotting along beside him. He gave them a wave, his signature smirk already in place. "Well, well, what do we have here? A picnic without inviting yours truly?"

Amber rolled her eyes, smiling. "Kaeya, we weren't exactly having a picnic. More like a training session. But you're always welcome to join us."

Kaeya took a seat, and Zorua immediately transformed into a tiny version of Voltorb, mimicking its crackling sound. Klee's eyes went wide, and she burst into a fit of giggles. "Look, Voltorb! It's another you!"

Voltorb blinked at the Zorua-Voltorb, seemingly confused for a moment before it gave a crackling laugh of its own.

Kaeya gave Zorua a pat on the head. "It seems Zorua is quite interested in making new friends today." He turned to Klee, his expression softening. "How are you liking your new partner, Klee?"

Klee beamed, hugging Voltorb. "I love Voltorb! We're going to make lots of booms—uh, I mean, have lots of fun together!"

Kaeya chuckled. "Just make sure those booms are controlled, alright? We don't want any unexpected fireworks in Mondstadt."

Lumine, Amber, and even Paimon couldn't help but laugh at that, knowing full well Klee's penchant for accidental explosions.

---

As the sky turned a soft shade of pink, the group began to pack up. Klee, still full of energy, was chatting animatedly with Voltorb, telling it all about the adventures they were going to have together. Lumine and Amber exchanged smiles, both of them happy to see Klee so excited.

"Today was really fun," Amber said, looking at Lumine. "It's nice to see how much everyone is bonding with their Pokémon. It feels like Mondstadt is changing—like it's becoming an even better place."

Lumine nodded, her gaze drifting to Pikachu, who was now curled up and dozing beside her. "I agree. Pokémon have brought something special to this world. And I think we're all the better for it."

Kaeya stood up, stretching his arms above his head. "Well, I think it's safe to say that Mondstadt has officially embraced Pokémon. Who knows, maybe we'll even start having Pokémon tournaments someday." He winked at Lumine, his tone teasing.

Paimon floated up, her eyes sparkling. "Ooh! Paimon loves that idea! Paimon could be the announcer! 'And in this corner, we have the amazing Pikachu and the explosive Voltorb!'"

Klee jumped up, her excitement renewed. "Yes! And Voltorb and I will win! We'll be the best team ever!"

Everyone laughed, the sound echoing under the massive tree. As they made their way back to Mondstadt, Hiroshi watched from a distance, Zekrom floating silently beside him.

"They're really making progress, aren't they?" Hiroshi said, a soft smile on his face.

Zekrom nodded, its deep voice resonating. "Indeed. Bonds are being forged, and that is the true strength of both humans and Pokémon."

Hiroshi nodded, feeling a sense of pride. The [Pokémon Popularization System] was more than just a mission—it was about creating friendships and bringing people closer together. And today, as he watched Klee and Voltorb roll ahead of the group, laughing and talking about their next adventure, Hiroshi knew he was on the right path.

"To more adventures," Hiroshi said quietly, his eyes filled with determination for whatever lay ahead.
