"We'll begin now." Ariana pointed to the device on the table. "Sit down, put on the ring, and close your eyes."
"Close my eyes?" I raised an eyebrow. "You're not going to make me meditate, are you?"
"Exactly," she said coldly. "Meditation is the most basic method. It will help clear your mind and allow you to focus better. Do as I say, no more talking."
"Alright, alright." I reluctantly sat down, put on the ring, took a deep breath, and closed my eyes.
Ariana adjusted the device's position and observed the fluctuations on the screen. "Now, breathe deeply, relax, and try to feel the presence of the ring."
"Feel?" I frowned. "It's right on my finger, don't I already feel it?"
"Not physically," Ariana's voice became more severe. "I mean its power, its fluctuations. Focus on the flow of that energy, but don't try to resist it."
