Ren and I slipped away from the lively lounge room. Our footsteps echoed softly in the empty corridors of Sunrise dormitory. As I followed him through the winding hallways of Adventus Academy, the distant hum of chatter and footsteps faded.
We ventured farther into the less-traveled corridors. His broad frame moved with a confidence that belied his usual carefree demeanor. Finally, we emerged onto a secluded balcony, its stone railings cloaked in ivy and bathed in the shiny glow of sunlight.
"Well, there's no one here but us." Ren leaned casually against the railing, a smirk tugging at his lips and his ruby-red eyes glinting under the sun. "Now, spill. What's got you dragging me away from my totally winnable board game?"
