It was late evening when the Moonfall dormitory lounge was filled with murmurs. As I stood beside Professor Peregrine and Liui, the other girls were gathered in a loose semicircle, whispering among themselves in hushed tones.
"Hey. What is this?"
"What happens?"
Their expressions were a fusion of curiosity, confusion, and mild annoyance at the unexpected assembly.
"Why are we being summoned all of a sudden?"
"I hope this is not that damn cursed night-quest! I've had enough catching Phantoms last year!"
"You care about that silly night-quest? My secret date was ruined because of this! What if I get dumped?"
Well... Their questions were valid, though. This sudden gathering isn't Peregrine's usual style and somehow kinda felt abrupt.
That's because I was the one who had pushed for this specific approach. Though it wasn't perfect, this setup suited my needs just fine.
