Synopsis
Born into a world of Magic, Okamoto Shinji found out at a young age that he wasn't capable of using magic in any way. He was abandoned by his birth parents on the side of the road in the kingdom of Veloria where non magic users are outlawed, meaning that death was given if they were caught. But luckily Shinji was taken in by his foster Mother Yuko who quickly discovered his curse but still decided to take him in. Raising him in secret away from the kingdom while still keeping up with her classes. Yuko was an Arch mage in the city who taught lower level mages how to use spells, to fight, and what the history of magic is. She didn't let that stop her from showing him a new way to live in the world, even if he had to keep his inability to use magic a secret.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Streets of Veloria

The beautiful Kingdom of Veloria was flourishing with the age of magic as the world heavily relied on it to do everything. From making food in the market plaza, to activities for people to enjoy during festivals, and of course to deal with any sort of conflicts.

Magic was considered to be the law of the world, anyone who couldn't use it was considered a disgrace to the gods who blessed them all with such a thing.

This meant death to anyone who couldn't wield it, so those who didn't have an affinity for magic hid away from the world while the others continued to live normal lives.

Veloria was a prime example of a kingdom that had no issues with such laws as they had a special agency just to deal with non magic users. Arresting them and bringing them to trial, even though their fate is decided immediately.

But sometimes people can be spared with kindness if found out by the right people.

"Wahh! Wahh!" A baby can be heard crying as a woman with long, curly blonde hair, wearing beautiful red robes with a white shirt showing through the opening, a silver necklace across her neck, with bright green eyes, is seen walking down a road way up on the hill. It overlooked most of the kingdom but wasn't the safest spot to go.

She immediately takes notice of the baby and walks over to it, seeing that no one else is around. "Poor little guy. Why would someone leave you here by yourself." She says softly while picking up the basket.

His blue eyes captured her heart as she tried to see if she could sense any magic within him. "So that's why you're here by yourself. I'll take care of you, don't worry." She says while looking at the baby.

He had stopped crying and a smile was on his face as he playfully extended his hands towards her. "With a cute face like that you are definitely bound to win the hearts of some ladies." She says with a smile on her face.

The woman took him back to her home on the outskirts of Veloria, a small house in the woods with a fairly clean interior. She usually took pride in keeping her home as clean as possible, even though no one ever came out to see her.

This woman was none other than Okamoto Yuko, a very well known Arch Mage who taught at Veloria's School for Young Mages.

Her reputation mostly came from her days in the war against the evil organization known as The Shadows of Izanagi, am organization that followed the ideas of a great mage who used many illegal spells to get stronger.

"I guess it would make sense for you to have a name, hmm." Yuko begins to think as she looks at him.

It was quiet in the small house as she finally came to the conclusion of what his name would be. "Okamoto Shinji. Yes, you are my son now after all." Yuko says with a bit of excitement in her voice.

There will be a lot of things to show him as he grows up but I do believe that he can do great things in this world. Everyone thinks magic is the only way to live in our world but maybe I can help him change the view of our cruel world.

This was the start of Shinji's life as the legendary Magus who couldn't use magic. He had a hard path ahead of him, but at least Yuko can teach him how to live without it.

16 Years later. (Shinji's View.)

A boy could be seen doing push ups in the corner of the room while a woman is seen making food.

95, 96, 97, 98, 99, 100. That's another hundred down, making 400 total. My routine for today is done, it's time to eat a good meal prepared by Mom. She always knows what I need after my workout routines.

"Shinji are you hungry?" Yuko asks while putting the plates down.

He gives a nod while making his way over to the table where a plate with rice and chicken can be seen on the table.

"Forgetting something?" She mentions with a bit of a serious expression on her face.

Looking up at her he puts his hands together and speaks. "Thank you for the meal Mom." Shinji says with a blank expression on his face.

It didn't take long for him to eat the food before him since this was the meal he had every night. Yuko always made sure that he got the right nutrients each time he ate so that he could grow stronger each day.

"He really is a simple boy. Teaching him all these routines was a good idea after all." Yuko thinks to herself as she eats.

Mom told me I don't have an affinity for magic and that it's outlawed in our world, but I don't need it. She told me that I can still prove myself by keeping up with all these routines, to make myself stronger.

Using nothing but my fists I can prove everyone wrong about non-magic users. I don't have any reason to do that though since we live quite a peaceful life out here in the woods.

I've got weights that I can use, plenty of space to run, do push ups, sit ups, and to practice punching. I wish I could try out some of the food in the kingdom though, it sounds good.

Mom always has posters from there with all the different options at these restaurants so it'd be nice to try them out.

"Shinji I have classes to teach so keep up with your routines till I get back. Remember that you can't go to the kingdom no matter what." Yuko says with a more serious tone in her voice.

Magic capable users are marked with a special symbol so that they stick out no matter where they go. It varies from person to person. Some have a line, a star, a diamond, or even multiple of each.

More symbols mean the stronger they are typically.
