Chapter 20 - MEETING GIFT

Anthony's heart sank at her hateful words and he took a step forward to go after her. Someone grasped his hand, pulling him back.

"Let her go, she won't listen to you anyways. Just let her go cry and fume. If you lower your head today, she will continue attacking you. That's just the way Rona is. Our parents spoiled her silly, and I was even worse, beating anyone that gets in her way and letting her create trouble as she pleased. That's why she's very arrogant, insensitive and self centered." Kaiser whispered, holding him firmly.

Anthony ran his fingers through his hair in frustration and sighed.

"Damn it! Why didn't anyone tell me I had a sister? This wouldn't have happened if I knew who she was. I thought it was just another cousin trying to insult me and retaliated."

Kaiser chuckled and patted his shoulders.

"If you knew who she was, what would you have done? Keep silent and let her kick you around?"

"Come on, she's just a mischievous little girl. She was merely being a brat like every teenager out there. I'm sure she didn't mean anything malicious, I over reacted." Anthony whispered, looking around the room. The other branches of the clan were laughing at them, and making snide comments about their problematic family, causing him to be incredibly uncomfortable.

"Wow! The air is thick with partiality. You had no problem retaliating when you thought she was your cousin. And now you know she's your sister, you suddenly think that she wasn't being malicious and disrespectful. Anthony, she wasn't just being a brat, she lashed out because she's a stupid girl in love."

"Mmm? What do you mean?"

Before Kaiser could answer, Joyce stormed to them.

"You, are you going to cause division in our family the moment you arrive? If Rona is hurt, I will never forgive you." She whispered and walked past Anthony, abandoning the dinner.

Anthony sighed and face palmed, feeling exhausted.

"Do we still have another sister or brother I should know about? I hate drama."

Kaiser laughed, and patted his back.

"No, just the two of us and our bratty sister. We won't be able to eat here, let me take you somewhere."

Kaiser moved to the buffet, packed a tray containing various delicacies, and moved outside to the garden with Anthony following behind him.

"Let me take you to the elucidation peak." Kaiser whispered and grabbed a hold of Anthony's waist with his free arm and took to the air.

"You can fly?" Anthony muttered in amazement.

"Of course, I cultivate space techniques." He answered, just in time for them to land at the peak of a mountain.

"Ah? How did we travel so far in just a minute?" Anthony asked in surprise and looked around, searching for the familiar cluster of mansions.

"Don't bother, we are at the forest area of our clan, near the forbidden zones. This place is good for relaxation, except for the presence of spiritual beasts. But of course, no spiritual beast will dare to act out of place after feeling my aura." Kaiser said arrogantly and set the tray on a rock.

"You're quite boastful." Anthony whispered, with an eye roll.

"That's because I have the ability. Go ahead and eat. The kitchen staff prepared today's dishes with rare ingredients which are good for the body. It can cleanse meridians and unlock bloodline abilities. Although the effects are not that much, but it's still something. How I wish there was a way to cross over to the cultivation realm. The recordings and history books in our library from the other world before the progenitors relocated here were so awesome and competitive. Try the spirit mushroom first." Kaiser whispered and served Anthony some food.

"Kaiser, you mentioned that Rona was just being stupid because of love, making me incredibly confused. Can you tell me why you said that? Why did she attack me at first sight even though we were in a public space?" Anthony suddenly asked, dropping his fork.

"Your dear sister is in love with her cousin even though incest is prohibited in the clan." Kaiser said nonchalantly, making Anthony spew out his drink in shock, his eyes wide with disbelief. He coughed a few times, trying to get rid of stray food particles that went the wrong way during the time he was disoriented.

"What? What the fuck did you just say? Isn't she just sixteen? Besides, it could be sibling love or something." Anthony whispered, not willing to believe it.

"I didn't believe it at first and thought it was because they used to play together as kids. Till she helped Brent take over one of my subsidiaries. She's in love with Brent's younger brother, Leo, and they know it too, taking advantage of her naivety. That's why I can't actively take actions against them because Rona is gonna raise dust. I once made a bet with Brent, but she acted the spy and told Leo. I let my guard down, giving her the opportunity to cause me harm. I don't know how Leo sweet talked and coaxed her into telling him, and he in turn told Brent. Since then, I kept her far away from the businesses and family secrets."

Anthony furrowed his brows and shook his head in denial.

"This could be a misunderstanding. She's naive, and young. In adding to being close to Leo. So, he could have craftily gotten the information from her. It was definitely not her intention to betray you."

"That was what I thought too, till I found them in one of the exotic gardens, all alone. Luckily, they have kept their nonsense within the realm of stolen kisses, hugs, games, and motorcycle racing. She wouldn't dare to actually do anything with him. Leo knows I will castrate him if he tricks her into bed. I was initially surprised when I realized that Brent also knew that the late night games were no longer that, but didn't stop them. Instead of stopping Leo, he actually encouraged them to get closer. And why is that? So that they will place Rona in the forefront and use her as a shield against me, while getting information. She might not mean it, but it's so easy for an experienced player like Leo to get words out of her mouth by initiating similar conversations. Forget about Rona, she might be stubborn, but she's adorable and innocent. Besides, once I find evidence that Leo's friendship is no longer pure, I will make her hate him more than Lucifer hates saint Michael."

"How old is Leo?" Anthony asked, wondering what kind of messy families the dragon clan was made up of.

"He's eighteen, two years older than she is. And he's also a genius, both in cultivation and medical field. He has developed a few powerful drugs. That's why Brent can be bold— he's not alone. He has a talented and seemingly innocent brother who holds his hands and helps him in the shadows. Even though Laycon is useless, Leo is powerful, almost like Brent. Rona is also very talented, but she's mischievous, impatient and hot headed, causing many flaws. So I'm the only one holding the forte in the younger generation for our own branch of the family. But guess what? I'm still bigger than all of them put together."

Anthony smiled and patted his shoulders.

"Kaiser, why did you take my side throughout today? As Rona rightfully said, we have never met each other."

Kaiser looked up with a frown on his face.

"Do I need a reason to love my blood brother? Anthony, you don't know how much efforts I have put in to find you. But it was all a waste. Who would have thought that you will be found when I least expect it? Even if you're not strong enough to weather the storm with me, I'm still happy we found you. And mom too. Besides, you have a lot of potential. You have cultivation energy undetectable by others. As long as you work hard, you will become the best."

Anthony couldn't tear his eyes away from him. The seemingly casual words this brother of his said nonchalantly while eating still managed to warm his heart.

"Your elder brother will give you a meeting gift, how about that?" Anthony whispered, wiping the sauce smudge on Kaiser's face away.
