Chapter 21 - JUST OVER THINKING

"What is it?" Kaiser asked, still enjoying his food.

"Since Leo has an edge with medical research, and makes you unhappy, I won't let him dominate the market. How about I give you three drug samples and their formulas? You can test them out on patients, if you like the effects, which I'm sure you would, I will produce more when I return. The materials are rare but I know where to find them. When you release them, I'm sure you would make some gains even if it's not enough to compensate for the subsidiary you lost."

Anthony produced a huge box from his storage ring and passed them to him.

"I had to sneak back to my former duplex to retrieve my items from my secret lab in the basement. Luckily, she didn't discover my secret basement lab. I won't let you do it alone from now on, allow this brother to hold your hand."

Kaiser looked at the box in confusion, his gaze darting between Anthony and the box. He suddenly sighed heavily.

"Why did you keep it hidden? Have you always known your ex was unfaithful? Was that why you kept these drugs away from the public?"

"I never felt the need. I was going to give it to her, alongside a new game I programmed, after our anniversary. But she had the mind to poison me and sell me to evil cultivators before I had the chance to."

Kaiser grabbed Anthony's hands and looked up at him.

"You must never fall in love again. It's alright to have multiple women, like them, protect them, and do right by them. But never fall in love again."

Anthony chuckled at Kaiser's serious expression and shook his head.

"How will I fall in love again when you guys have thrown me into this snake pit? I have to worry about my survival first. It's only someone who is alive will have the leisure of looking around for women."

His words made Kaiser frown deeply and he got lost in thoughts as he stared at Anthony.

"Damn it! I'm going crazy!" Kaiser suddenly shouted, scratching his hair furiously with a confused look on his face.

"Alright, alright! You have my assurances, I will never make a woman a priority in my life anymore. I will focus more on being the strongest, the most powerful, the most knowledgeable, the wealthiest, and the most influential. Are you happy now?" Anthony said, not understanding the reason Kaiser suddenly zoned out.

"Anthony, tomorrow morning, you will be sent to the city of kings. It's a cursed fragmented world where souls and the undead are trapped in eternal chaos and darkness. There are molten lavas around certain parts of the city of kings. A god realm master once went on a rampage after suffering from qi deviation and reduced the city he once ruled to ruins. People he trusted schemed against him to induce qi deviation and he killed his wife on his wedding day, murdered all the citizens and destroyed the entire place. Powerful high god realm masters gathered to seal off the place, taking advantage of the curse he was placed on by the traitor to subdue and kill him. Then that part of the planet broke free and attached itself to earth as a fragmented world. Our dragon clan ancestors secured the portal ages ago, using it as a place for training and treasure hunting. The undead creatures and monsters are particularly strong but the ones you need to watch out for are the evil energies floating around. Here's a map of city of kings which I drew after visiting it numerous times. Real danger is the fastest way to level up, just stay alive. The places marked in red are the most dangerous places, and the ones marked golden are places with treasures. I hope you find it useful." Kaiser suddenly said and pushed an ancient scroll to him.

"Thanks. Isn't this cheating?" Anthony asked jokingly and looked up at Kaiser. However Kaiser had zoned out again with a look of worry on his face.

"No, no, no, no. It's not possible." He muttered, tapping away at the rock. He heard an unpleasant rumor earlier in the day, making him incredibly worried. The rumor suggested that his brother won't be sent to city of kings to train, but the perilous lands so that he would die there. No one, no matter how strong has made it back safely. And once they cross over, their life lantern goes off, showing they died. The latest one happened twenty years ago, when the legendary golden dragon twins decided to try their luck. Even Kaiser couldn't make it past the portal the day he sneaked in. The strong sense of danger he felt made him give up and return. All these heroes and geniuses died there. How will his poor brother who had a weak cultivation survive it?

'It's just a rumor. Even if grandpa dislikes Anthony, he will never agree to it. Besides, dad is still the patriarch. Although he's away on a trip, they won't try anything funny with his son or kill him in such an obvious way. Besides, all the area around the perilous lands portal were sealed off, tighter than the rest of the forbidden areas in the clan, to show the severity. That's right, it's just a rumor. No one will dare to do it with me around.' Kaiser thought, looking up at the sky.

Anthony waved his hands across Kaiser's face, but didn't get noticed, making him frown.

"Kaiser!" He suddenly shouted, making Kaiser jump.

"Are you alright? Why are you staring at me like that?"

Kaiser sighed heavily and tapped the rock.

"Big brother…"

"What's wrong?" Anthony asked, putting down his glass of wine.

Kaiser suddenly shook his head and changed his mind.

"Nothing, it's nothing. Just eat your food."

Anthony waited for a while, unconvinced by his words, but Kaiser didn't speak anymore, making him forget it.

'It's impossible. I can't believe I actually considered such a ridiculous rumor. Grandpa would never do that. At worst, I will just accompany him to city of kings. That's right, even if they want him dead, they won't send him to a place as gruesome as the perilous lands, especially since they believe he's weak and would die in the city of kings anyways. They won't go through the trouble of burning so many treasures to unlock the perilous lands portal just to make him die there, right? I must be over thinking it because I'm stressed out.'
