Chapter 38 - "Beginning of the Mystery"

"In the shadow of the sacred tree, there is no place to escape the darkness; only "Those who can overcome the obstacle."

The scene opens at the base of a towering hill in the chaotic lands, where Randel's group gathers around a small fire cutting through the night's cold. Amidst the tense atmosphere sits a mysterious man in gray clothes with messy brown hair and eyes filled with both confidence and mystery.

The man spoke in a calm yet assertive tone:

"As I said before My name is Aizek, an investigator from one of the cities beyond the great wall. It seems the chaos here has little to no effect on the other kingdoms beyond the wall. They simply don't care about this forsaken land."

Eryan, skeptical, retorted:

"So what brings you here? And also If the kingdoms don't care, why did they send you? Where's your team?"

Aizek chuckled briefly before responding with a sarcastic tone:

"No one sent me. There's no team. When the mission was proposed, everyone ignored it. To them, this land is just a forgotten spot, filled with monsters and ruin."

Randel stepped closer, gripping his sword, his voice laced with irritation.

"And what about you? Why would you take a mission no one cares about?"

Aizek smirked and replied enigmatically:

"Because I prefer working alone. And besides, my curiosity always drives me to uncover the truth. There's something here much bigger than just monster attacks."

The Truth About the Sacred Tree

For a moment, silence hung in the air before Randel broke it with determination.

"Alright then, Mr. Investigator. If you're so curious, what do you know about the sacred tree? Tell us everything."

Aizek straightened up, his voice lowering but carrying an air of gravity.

"The sacred tree… it's not just a tree. It's part of an ancient plan devised by demons. Centuries ago, they used this tree to extend their influence across the world. It had the power to manipulate both humans and beasts alike."

Lara, visibly surprised, asked:

"How can a tree do that?"

Aizek explained:

"It's no ordinary tree. It originates from another realm, one filled with darkness and mysterious forces. When the demons invaded this land, they planted these trees in multiple locations, not only to establish control but to leave seeds of corruption that would grow with time."

Aizek continued:

"But the humans didn't surrender. They crafted crystal weapons, infused with the power of slain beasts, to counter the tree's influence. They managed to destroy most of the trees. However, the mother tree, the largest and most powerful one, proved indestructible. The chosen warriors sealed it using the power of Vaera,Which only bloodlines from powerful clans mastered

Eryan interrupted, his curiosity piqued.

"Vaera's power I've heard of itBut the demons did not think it exists

Aizek nodded grimly.

"Who knows?Randall replied, "What about the seal? Is it possible that it was still there?" Aizek ki answers Exactly. The seal was a temporary solution. Over time, its power waned. And now, it seems someone has broken the seal, reactivating the mother tree. This explains the recent monstrous attacks It no longer follows its instincts

The group exchanged glances, uncertainty etched on their faces. Randel narrowed his eyes and said:

"If the mother tree has returned, we need a plan to destroy it once and for all. We can't let it remain standing."

Aizek smiled faintly, seemingly satisfied by Randel's resolve.

"That's why I decided to join you. But destroying the mother tree won't be easy. It's not just a physical entity; it has guardians, starting with the crystal beasts that draw power from its roots."

Lara cautiously asked:

"And what about the power to destroy it? Does Vaera still exist?"

After Aizek finished, silence once again filled the air. Everyone pondered the mission ahead. The sacred tree wasn't just a target; it was a challenge that would test their true essence.

Standing up, Randel declared with conviction:

. If destroying the tree is the only way, we'll do it no matter the cost."

Aizek stood, a faint smile crossing his lips.

"That's what I wanted to hear. But prepare yourselves… the journey ahead will be more difficult than you can imagine."
