Chapter 1.
The protagonist Beatrice always knew her family was complicated the weight of a tradition had dictated her life but no one expected the day would come when both she and her sister Amelia would stand before their parents faced with a impossible choice.
Their father spoke "You two have a choice to take over the family business," a crumbling empire once the pride of their family.
"or marry the son of the richest man in the country." a man rumored to be unattractive and dangerous.
Beatrice's eyes flicked to her sister. Amelia's lips turned into a devious smile. "I'm the oldest, so the business will be mine." Amelia spoke. "I don't think you can handle it dear sister so don't try to change my mind."
Beatrice hesitated. "Amelia, you don't know what you're getting yourself into. the rumors are saying the business is uns-" Amelia stopped her. "hm, I know that's why they need me." she scoffed. "if you're too weak to choose the marriage of the man then that's your problem."
Beatrice felt the weight of her words, it stung a little but she wasn't going to let that get to her.
Beatrice: "fine, I'll marry him... but don't come crying to me when your business fails." she chuckled. Amelia was furious.
"Alright," He spoke. "since everything is settled, you lady's can back to your duties" Amelia glared at Beatrice in her she was not happy the father spoke again "Oh" he paused. "And don't mess up the family reputation... Amelia."
Amelia froze for a second then began to speak. "Of course not, Father, only a pathetic little soul would do something like that." she didn't really like that her father doubted her work.
"If that is all i will take me leave." Beatrice announced.
"very good." my father replied "Amelia you can leave too. i don't want to keep you waiting."
Amelia gazed at me and began to speak. "I can make that man mine even if I choose the business." She leaned closer to me, and I felt her hot breath "without even trying."
I saw that face my sister made, it was hilarious. I wanted to mock her, but since she is a big baby she would whine and try to make everything about her. I started walking away to my room, wondering if the man was loyal or if I had to test him.
