Chapter 3 - The Clown King

The election was tough, especially when going against the devil himself, but he won. Like he always does ever since the devil lost to him ten thousand years ago during the last five elections.

Azrael smirked as he took a bite out of the apple and chewed hard on it. He was a dirty little snake. Offering the female demons at the election board one amazing night with him.

Who wouldn't agree to that?

They all turned a blind eye to those annoying brats that were loyal to Lucifer and rigged the damned election results by one vote. He smiled to himself again as he always found it funny.

Not that he was smart enough to rig the election with no one finding out, or that he had delivered another massive blow to the devil's face by winning again by one vote.

No, what was funny to him was that they always find him irresistible every time in the last five elections in Hell. They could not say no and remain transparent as they have sworn to be before the angels. Just one smile from him was enough for them to fall on their knees, begging to be laid. Some even moaned while he rocked their world to levels of pleasure that they have always looked forward to the next election because of him.

Which he did not find very sexy.

How would you look forward to deciding the next fate of Hell that happens once in every two thousand hellish years just for sex?

He shook his head again and he paused. His mouth a bit to the side at his royal council members and dignified executives yapping non-stop at the screen about the graph showing the growing rate of exorcism that was ongoing on earth.

He would have to admit that, damn, the graph was growing longer than the thing the female demons at the election board always look forward to tasting every two thousand years. Likewise, he leaned on his hands as he sat on his throne with another amusing smile on his face.

Vanessa. The little bitch.

He has always hated her guts and wished to one day rip it out of her throat.

He continued to stare right at her with a smile as she returned his friendliness with a cold look filled with all round suspicion. She had always doubted how truthful he was. Only a bitch would want to expose him like she had always worked towards to in secret. He had never liked those who opposed him.

But she was fun to tease at times.

He threw his half-eaten apple at her and watched as it landed on her laps. Her frown deepened until it reached a scowl. Nowadays, she doesn't even try to hide it that she hated him.

And he does give two fucks about it.

His attention was back to the discussion happening before him. A presentation on the need to stop those abominable exorcism centers growing rapidly on earth so the will of Hell would be done on earth.

So far, from their previous tenure, they have only gotten rid of one major exorcism center on earth and a few already dying ones. His citizens were not happy about it which made his success in this election even more suspicious.

He planned to raise their hopes and encourage them to start believing in him. Like they did for the devil blindly. The goal for this new tenure of his was as simple as ABC.

Get. Rid. Of all exorcism centers on earth.

Azrael gritted his teeth at the thought of them. Not only were they annoying. But were ridiculously annoying.

So far so good, they are nowhere in closing in on their goal, and it was nobody's fault. He wasn't just as lucky as the devil was during his time. Those bastards exorcism centers were all sweating out blood during the reign of the devil. They feared him because he hesitated and wasted no time in getting rid of them all.

''So, Your Majesty. We suggest we disguise ourselves as humans and blend in perfectly to be one of them. That way, it would be easier for us to destroy them all with a sneak attack.''

Azrael stared at the faces of all his three hundred council members, all scattered around in the throne room, listening to their boring presentation. He wanted to know if they thought the demon's stupid idea was brilliant. He sighed when they all stupidly agreed and nodded their heads before turning to him for the final approval.

Azrael wanted to say; no, snap---break their necks and drill them as they shred every feather of their wing to come up with more amazing ideas when they are being brought before him. But for the sake of not giving them more reasons to hate him and name him as the tyrant king of Hell…he rose to his feet and clapped proudly at their brilliant suggestion. And all agreed to work with it. Things were all going fine and boring for the king until…

''Your evilness,''

He smiled. That sounded more dignifying to him than the boring ''your majesty.''

''Whose head needs to be boiled in hell's lake this time?''

Ark drew back in terror. Not only was he the clown king, but he at times terrify his subjects unintentionally.

''I mean, what's the news, dear Ark?''

Now it sounded so weird being too polite in his mouth. It was as sour as hell's pie.

''A human has walked through the seven gates of hell to seek an audience with you.''

Boring.

The demon rolled his eyes and was about to dismiss all of them.

''He says he has a favor to ask of you in exchange for something.''

''Oh my, and you let him wait out there that long without bringing him in?''

Ark stared at the King in mild confusion.

''Come on, bring him in.''

Thank hell. At least someone is ready to give than to take away from me.

The doors of hell's sinful throne room was pulled open and Azrael watched with his red eyes hiding under the shadow of his immaculate blue ones. The human was an old man dressed in those gowns earthlings wear whenever they are ill and are being treated by a physician. He appeared pale, and could not believe he has been walking around hell barefooted.

Azrael pushed his lips forward at the poor creature with pity. He was asked to bow down before him by Ark, and he did, obediently.

The King cleared his throat and began, going straight to the point. ''What does thou want?'' He asked as a small yawn took over his pretty face.

The human first accessed him, nodding as if he liked what he saw before responding in a weak frail voice. ''I want to be possessed by one of you.''

''Ahhh,'' Everyone gasped except Azrael.

''You say what now?''

The human clenched his teeth and balled his hands into tight fist.

''I wish to give myself up to be possessed and die a quick death.''

The whole court grew in discord and Azrael rolled their eyes at each of them. Reacting as if a human can't be crazy enough to blow up their minds with this. He turned to the human once again and gave him a charming smile. ''I'm listening.''

''Recently,'' He began in a pained tone. ''I mean, not longer than fifteen years ago, my arrogant daughter said no right to my face.''

He is not making any sense.

''No, as in; No, daddy I want to see Santa Claus flying above my head with a reindeer or no daddy I want a pretty unicorn?''

The entire court laughed but the human glared at each of them.

''No, she said no to taking over my multi-billion dollar company when I die to pursue her dream in exorcism!''

Ops. Azrael shook his head.

''That's a nasty brat you have there.''

Everyone nodded their head in agreement.

''I want to take my life now by being possessed by one of you because I have had enough of seeing her progress in that demonic career.''

Azrael nodded in understanding.

''In exchange, you get to have her as your bride. I will give her up for free and bound her to you to make her suffer terribly for what she did to repay me as her father! I will make her regret ever saying no after all my trainings and hard work invested in her pathetic life.''

Everyone gasped and rejoiced inwardly at the thought of their master having a bride one day. It doesn't matter if it will be arranged, but Hell will get to have a queen again!

Only that she would be a human. Which was going to be a huge problem for them.

Azrael's face turned sour like hell's pie as he glared down at the human in disbelief.

''Is this some kind of sick joke?''

Vanessa lowered her head in shame, shaking her head as the demon has never once disappointed her in his acts.
