Chapter 32 - Vibration [E]

"You're not afraid of Marcus, are you?"

Adrian towered over her - Christine only reached his chest when standing.

His voice, deep as black velvet, came from above her head, echoing in the dark bedroom.

Her hair was still caught in his grip, her scalp tingling with pain. Unable to see his face, she couldn't read his intention - was he mocking her, or angry about Marcus and Victor meddling in his family affairs?

She could only explain: "Ethan used to tell me about when you were children, so I..."

Before she could finish, his grip in her hair tightened.

This time, her head was pulled back further, letting her finally see Adrian's face above her. His eyes were narrowed, studying her, steel-gray irises turned black in the darkness, his thin lips pressed tight. He was waiting for her to finish.

Christine realized she shouldn't have tried to explain, but his penetrating gaze was too intimidating.
