Later that evening, I walked toward where to board a taxi on the way to the road.
I was hearing the sound of footsteps coming behind me, making me look back at the person coming behind me.
Detective Reed appeared, holding a file in his hand.
"Do you always make it a habit to approach people on the road like this one?" I asked, my tone was very careful.
"Not always, But I thought this might be the only time we could talk without many eyes around." Reed replied with a smile.
"What do you want?" I asked frowning.
"I wanted to make sure you are okay. It is not easy working in a place like this, especially with the... pressures that actually comes with it." Reed stopped a few steps away, resting normally on a strong pillar.
"I'm fine, I don't need anyone checking on me." I said quickly.
