Cain walked steadily toward the helicopter, not surprised to see that Frank had already arranged for all his main guards to be present, even though Cain didn't think it would matter.
Eldric might be politically strong, but one-on-one, beast against beast, Cain could easily tear him to shreds like butter. Eldric was the one who needed more guards, not him.
Getting to Eldric's district took an hour by helicopter, and Cain wasn't surprised when he got off to see cars already waiting to pick him up—but not his guards. Cain brushed it off, as it was a usual occurrence, but Frank didn't take it well. He scowled at the man who approached and bowed only to Cain, a slightly arrogant expression playing on his face even as he did so.
"Greetings, Lord Cain! I'm to bring you straight to Lord Eldric's mansion!" the man said.
Cain nodded, not bothering to harp on the disrespect seething just beneath the man's calm mask.
