The pain was nerve-wracking and that was saying a lot considering how much practice he had gotten from the moment he got cursed since he was ten years old. It felt like every inch of his skin had been set on fire and his bones were slowly melting and that was just the first phase.
By midnight, when he transformed, he usually wished he was dead as he laid on the bed clenching the sheets as hard as he could, completely soaked with sweat from head to toe even as he felt his beast slowly trying to take control.
'I should have killed him! If he shows up he better have all his limbs missing!' Cain swore to himself unable to understand why the damn servant was yet to return. His mind going through various scenerios in his head about what could possibly stop his uncle Eldric from giving him the damn potion.
'I've been good! I've done every single thing he wants. What other form of control does he want?' his eyes blazing with nothing but undiluted hatred at the thought that the witch his uncle was colluding with was the same one who had cursed him and killed his entire family. A conclusion he had arrived at after trying to get other witches to come up with a cure or even a replica of the potion all to no avail.
"Urghh!" he loudly groaned under his breathe and into the sheets as he felt another wave of pain crash over him. "I'm going to kill that servant!" he swore to himself, even as he felt his vision slowly darkened even as the pain slowly intensified.
'I need to kill him!" Popping his eyes open to reveal eyes, one golden brown and the other the colour of blood.
***************************
Violet had just been about to turn around, intent on taking her chances with the guards at the gate, already making up the most appropriate lie to say that would ensure they allowed her to leave when she suddenly heard the huge doors of Ravon's doors push open.
Hurriedly dashing behind the pillar she was hiding behind to prevent herself from being seen. Only peeking when she was convinced that whosoever it was wasn't walking towards her and was instead headed in the opposite direction from where she stood. A bit surprised to see a back she was convinced belonged to Ravon.
The thought came to her without her needing to look for it, her gaze fixed on Ravon's office which was now completely empty. 'He's bound to have another!" she thought even as she continued to cling to the pillar weary of anyone coming from behind her.
'But I can't allow myself to be caught!' knowing that she would actually wish she was dead.
Instead of heading in, she stood there for a while longer, turning around to walk back anytime she sensed that someone was heading through the corridor in a way that would make it seem like she was also walking through the corridor instead of lingering around it.
'Its medicine! It shouldn't matter what time I give it to him right?' she thought even as she wondered what illness he could possibly have considering how strong he was, a strength that had almost broken her neck.
It was only after she was convinced that Ravon wouldn't be heading back anytime soon that she picked up her pace, checking around to make sure she was alone before dashing into his office as fast as she could. Her heart thumping and racing, hammering against the walls of her chest as she closed the door behind her and began to seriously look around the office trying to figure out where he would keep more bottles of it.
The bar was the first place she checked, barely managing to not break a bottle as she hurriedly checked through the many rows and rows of bottles on the racks. It didn't that there were inner racks and a cold wine cellar just behind it, something she had figured out after unknowingly putting too much force on it.
"SHIT! FUCKING HELL!" She cursed under her breath after searching through the cellar and numerous bottles without seeing the tiny vials bottles she needed to see, going as far ass to check the fridge only to come up completely empty with nothing but another useless setz of wine bottles she didn't need to see.
Violet couldn't give up though. It was already bad enough that she had invaded his office. At that point, the only option she had was to find the goddam bottle. Dashing behind his desk, her face covered in sweat as she gently riffled through the drawers doing her best not to mess up any sort of arrangement Ravon had going on, one that looked completely messy to Violet.
Moving from the top drawer to the one on the very bottom, pulling it up even as she began to internally plead to see anything. Anything that looked like the bottle she was looking for. She had just pulled it open when right there was a single vial placed in the center of the drawer. Violet didn't think twice before snatching the vial up and closing the drawer back to the exact way it had been, dashing for the door.
Pausing for a millisecond to catch her breath and appear composed before stepping out through the door calmly like she belonged there. sweat having drenched her back and the shirt she wore, trembling as she hastened her steps and began to retrace her steps for the path that led the fastest to Cain's room.
But she was just about to turn right out of the corridor she walked in when she suddenly heard footsteps behind her. Without so much as glancing back, she shot forward dashing straight trying to distance herself from Ravon's office as much as she could, heading upstairs to Cain's room.
Her steps were quick and fast doing her best to get the task over with conscious of the fact that her fifty page assignment was still yet to be done. 'I'm leaving! I can try to rationalize it but honestly I'm going to die here!' understanding why Mr Flint had warned her that being a whore was so much better than what she chose to do.
This time around, careful to distance herself from everyone she came close to, she finally arrived at the door of Cain's room. Rushing in!
But if only she had taken a second to listen she would have noticed that something had gone, terribly wrong.
