Unable to fight the need for survival, she scrambled to her feet, planning to flee with whatever was left of her body. But she had just scrambled up in a bid to climb across the bed again when she saw a large paw shoot out and knock into her, sending her back to the ground.
Alarmed, Violet opened her mouth and screamed again, fear pulsing through every vein as she waited for the beast to descend on her and tear her bones into bits. But instead, she felt something wet and hard against the injury on her arm. Her eyes immediately popped open to see the beast licking across her bleeding arm in a way that took her completely by surprise. She stared at the beast with her mouth agape in shock.
A low purring sound emanated from its throat, unlike the ear-splitting growls that had echoed in her ears when she had first entered the room. Violet would have drawn her arm back, but the feel of its tongue against her arm actually alleviated the pain, even more so when she noticed that the large, wounded bites were slowly starting to heal.
Violet didn't dare to make any large movements as she continued to sit on the ground, her entire focus on the monstrous beast which continued to hover over her. Just because it had yet to eat her didn't mean she was completely off the menu. She watched as it painstakingly continued licking her arm until there was no longer any sign of an injury.
At that point, Violet could not take it any longer, and she began to back away from it slowly. Her eyes focused on the red eyes of the beast, which had yet to look away for even a second. It watched her every move like a predator would watch prey. Violet continued to scramble back until her back met the wall, and there was no longer space to scramble to.
Surprised to see the beast suddenly lower itself on its four limbs, placing its huge furry head on its front legs as it openly watched Violet, completely blocking any means of escape, Violet froze, not knowing what to make of it. The fact that she had yet to be attacked by the huge and monstrous thing, which was about four times the size of a wolf, was already a blessing, yet she couldn't leave her survival up to luck.
Seconds became minutes, and Violet's frayed nerves were on the point of snapping when she finally made a decision. She slowly got to her feet and quietly climbed onto the bed, beyond glad that the beast continued to see no reason to move as its eyes continued to follow her every movement. Violet was careful, moving extremely slowly until she got to the other side of the room, with the huge bed between her and the beast.
She had just gotten there when, unable to take the tension she felt any longer, she bolted for the door, running as fast as her legs could carry her—the fastest she had ever run in her life. But she was still a few feet away when she suddenly saw a huge figure swerve in front of her, unleashing a loud growl of displeasure as it stood in front of her.
Violet froze, her body and limbs trembling as she watched the beast dash toward her, convinced that she had finally messed up and it had changed its mind about eating her. But instead, one of its huge paws shot out, knocking her to the ground. She was still confused about what it was up to as she immediately began to scramble away on all fours when she felt something pick her up by the back of her shirt. Almost passing out, she turned her face to see herself in the maw of the beast.
Violet screamed, internally praying and begging, convinced that it was her last hours, when she felt her body be dropped. She hit the softness of the bed. Again, she hadn't been eaten, but instead had been gently tossed onto the bed.
"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU WANT?! KILL ME ALREADY!" she cried, tears streaming down her face as she watched the beast move closer to her until its nose was just mere inches away from her face. It lowered its face to her neck, where it slowly began to lick her, doing so a couple of times before backing away to lie back on the ground, its head on its front legs.
Red eyes fixed on Violet, who had stopped crying from the shock of being licked and was now simply glaring at the beast. It was clear that it had absolutely no intention of allowing her to leave, and she knew better than to try again. Instead, she sat up on the bed and stared at the beast, taking in its appearance as she felt the beast do the same.
It's huge! she thought to herself, unable to look away at the expanse of space the beast easily took up simply by lying on the floor. Twice as big as Ravon's own, if not more, recalling when Ravon had transformed into a beast, and how compared to Cain's own, Ravon's might as well have been a pup.
Its transformation was weird though. Is that what he needs the medicine for? she mumbled under her breath, recalling how slow it had been and how painful it seemed.
"I-I'm sorry!" she suddenly stuttered out loud, watching the beast's head snap up in reaction to what she said. "I should have brought the medicine faster, and I apologize. I swear it will never—ever happen again!" she said, her hands clasped together to keep them from trembling. Even if Cain forgave her for that, there was still the punishment for the 50-page work she was yet to finish.
"Al-also..." she began to speak again with tears in her eyes, ready to beg for a chance to keep her life when suddenly she saw the beast leap off the ground with zero warning, right into the bed she sat on. So fast, she couldn't react until it was right beside her, its fur gliding against her skin as it wrapped its body around her and laid fully on the bed.
Violet froze completely, unable to even blink as her heart pounded in her chest. She tried to understand what was going on. The fur was as black as the night, and its softness was like the...
Soft... she thought, snapping herself back to reality when she had just lifted her hands to touch it and immediately lowered them again. Turning her head to see the beast barely a breath away, its warm breath fanning the entirety of her neck and back. Don't panic! she told herself, doing her best to wait it out until she could move. She felt its head move even closer until it touched her back, slowly rubbing its head against her.
