Delphinia bit her lower lip, her green eyes narrowing as she stared at Evander. The man leaned casually against the doorframe, his arms crossed, with a look that was hard to read but had a hint of amusement.
"You're blackmailing me," she finally said, her voice shaking with frustration.
Evander's lips curved into a smirk, the corner of his mouth lifting in a way that made her want to scream and stomp her feet like a child.
"I'm not blackmailing you," he said calmly, tilting his head as if reading her. "I'm simply asking for what I'm owed. Compensation."
Delphinia's jaw dropped. "Compensation? For what? You're acting like I begged you to spend a fortune on a stupid ring!" She pressed her palms against her temples, willing the situation to make sense, but it was futile.
Evander shrugged, acting so chill it was making her crazy. "And if I was blackmailing you, let's not forget that you blackmailed me first."
