Chapter 2 - New World New Life

Suddenly, a young man, i guess 14-15 years old, with brown hair, wheat-colored skin, and a thin and innocent face, who was sleeping in bed, sat up as if he had a nightmare.

Damn my head hurts so bad. Even lifting my head is agony for me. There was a worried looking couple in their 60s in front of me. Who are you? Before I could say where am I, I tried to stand up but my head spun and I fainted. Incurable I opened my eyes with the crowing of the rooster and the first light of day hit my face through the window. I sat up in my bed, trying to understand the situation I was in. My hands were not my own hands, they were young, they had not experienced anything yet, they had not started to collect memories. My head felt like it was wrapped in a cloth, I felt the cloth on my head with my hand and realized that it was acting as a bandage.

The tunnel had transferred me into a young man's body. It should have felt strange to be in someone else's body, but it didn't, in fact I felt used to this body. Being in a young and healthy body with the experience of age is a great combination. I don't have to repeat the mistakes I made in my youth. The most important thing is the energy and health that comes with youth. I won't get sick often, and even if I do, I will recover quickly, and I don't have to worry about getting tired anymore. My new body made me very happy and I started to wonder where I was. The room where my bed was was neither big nor small, the walls were made of adobe.

The house consisted of one room. The bedroom, living room and kitchen were combined. The fireplace was an old-style fireplace. Like the walls, the fireplace was made of adobe. The fireplace was blackened by the wood smoke. The fire burning of the wood in the fireplace gave people peace. I could listen to the crackling of the fire for hours. I warmed my hand on the fireplace for a while. It was as if I had found myself in a village house that lived in old times. Also, since the house was made of adobe, I did not feel the cold air that much. The enchanting atmosphere of the environment fascinated me so much that I forgot what I should focus on. I needed to learn about myself and the environment. I wrapped the traditional patterned baddaniye around myself to take a look at what it was like outside and to protect myself from the cold and went out the door. It was not as cold as I expected outside, but it was windy. Still, it was worth it to take precautions.

There was a small hut-like structure a little further from the house. I guess this was the outside toilet. I didn't think I would be in such an old-fashioned village house. This situation made me frown. The thought that this world was not that advanced started to bother me. Will I be able to find the comfort of my old world here? Today, my joy of being young again was shattered. Anyway, I passed by the hut and saw two people working in the field where small crops were planted in the distance. I started walking to join them.

As I got closer to the people working in the fields, I realized they were the elderly couple I had seen last night. The man was in his late 60s, had a thick beard, medium height, and a hooked nose. What caught my attention the most was his red, conical headdress with a curved top. It gave you the image of a grandfather. The woman was in her mid-60s, with rosy cheekbones, a delicate nose, and hazel eyes that sparkled. The woman's traditional outfit was striking. She had a black headscarf with colorful flower motifs. Her gray hair mixed with white was visible, though a little. Her dress was also black, her shirt was white, with white collars and flower motifs. Her black apron on top of her trousers was decorated with pink flowers. Her shoes were dark mustard colored boots. Her traditional outfit was dazzling. If I had my phone with me, I would have loved to have taken a photo with them. I felt a little nervous because I didn't know who they were.
