Chapter 4 - Feeling lost

Angela's Point Of View

"Table five! Then table six Angel, you are needed at table five opposite table eight. Move it, today is crowded. No sluggishness, please!" The supervisor in charge yelled at me.

Can't I pee in peace again? This is the most stressful job I have ever come across on this app. Like what the heck is going on around here? Look how crowded it is, everyone is busy!

'Angel this'

'Angel that'

'Angel, table one!'

'Angel table four' when will Angel rest? Just when? I have been up since morning and I can't even take a pee in peace! If Angel can't rest, definitely Angela won't either.

The description of this job didn't indicate that I would be moving up and down throughout my stay, all I simply thought was I would be staying behind a counter not walking around tables.

I walked up to table five where a young lady I guess she was still a teenager. The dress hugged her body so tightly and I could see some discomfort on her face and more when the elderly man seated beside her wouldn't keep his hand to himself.

"Ahem, hem," I cleared my throat on arrival. "Umm, what's your order please?" I said, staring deeply at the girl. Who lets their little girl leave their bedside at this time of the night and come to the bar with some grumpy old man? Who, please? Let's try something and see where it goes.

"So Grandpa should I bring soda for your granddaughter?" I said, looking at him in disgust.

He had the guts to look me in the eyes and smile, saying, "She isn't my granddaughter but my baby" before turning to her and smiling. I felt like puking in his face.

"Oh my gosh! My bad! I never guessed," I said feigning innocence.

"But your 'baby' and you need a drink I guess so what do you order?" I said glaring at him. Who takes young girls to the bar these days? There is nothing I won't see around this part of the world, these beings are just so bold. Beings these days are just so stupid and foolish like this one sitting down here.

"Will you get us that?" He said amid my thoughts. He kind of has a puppy look on him.

"Get you what?" I asked, taking my pen out to jot his orders. Almighty helps him, he should just say nonsense and he will regret coming here.

"Why weren't you listening? He queried.

"Maybe I was, maybe I wasn't. Just give me your order," I said as gently as possible.

"You know, you are too rude." He uttered.

"Too rude or so rude? Well, that for me to determine. Your orders again?" I responded rudely.

"Like I said earlier, you are too rude. Get us two glasses of Bloody Mary!" He requested before bending over to whisper something to the girl who smiled nervously in response.

He turned and still saw me standing looking at him, "Didn't you hear me?" He asked, visibly angry.

"I just have a question, that's all. Why bloody Mary? I still get why you would choose that for yourself but for the young girl? No way, why would you want her to drink tomato juice, seasonings, and vodka, mixed all together? Even just thinking about it makes me want to puke, nah!" I said, sticking my tongue out like I was going to puke. The girl's face was twisted.

"And how is that any of your problems? Just give us the goddamn drink," he yelled at me and attracted attention from the rest.

"Please keep it down, you are distracting others. Well, my problem is I can't just give this poor girl a Bloody Mary, choose another drink," I said in response.

"Like seriously? Whatever! Okay, what about some screwdriver? Two glasses!" He ordered, not taking his eyes off her.

"Oh, so you can screw her all night, right? Nah, choose another drink," I said with a little concern. I was enjoying all this at the expense of my job but I don't give a damn. And I definitely know who to try this shit with, definitely not the big boys here, like that loner sitting at the back.

"Now you have to tell me what your problem is? Whatever I choose for my baby and me isn't any of your business. Your damn business here is to serve us our drinks," he yelled, now all attention was on us. Well, well, well, this old man does know how to yell.

"Okay! Ok, ok! I'll get you a drink. I guess you have rum and coke, so the girl goes with Coke and you, the old papa will go with rum. No arguments, no comments, no opinion, I am giving you what's best for you." I said as I wrote down the list on my note and turned to walk away when he grabbed my hand and pushed me.

"What the heck is wrong with you? I'm not a fool and I know what is best for me. I know what I want so give me what I requested." He said hostile.

"You are not a fool and you brought this little girl to a bar, are you sure? Are you sure you are not a fool?" I said furious. How dare he? I hate his kind!

He grabbed my shirt and started yelling at me to bring what he ordered. I wasn't going to serve him what he wanted, not while that young girl was with him and I don't care if it was consented between the two of them. They can do that outside but not while I'm here.

The supervisor of mine came forward and helped lose me from the old man's grip. And took his orders while he sent me off to another table, the loser's table.

"Mr black, what can I bring for you? What's your order?" I said looking him over, his head was slightly bent over to the table. Even with the black face cap he was wearing, I could still see the bright silver hair underneath.

It looks like he just got his heart broken, maybe that's why he was wearing all black. He wasn't yet able to answer my question so I asked again.

"Mr all black, what's your order? Do you want something heartbreaking? Or something to mend your broken heart? Or something to help you revive one dead part? I have the perfect drink!" I said, still looking at him he hasn't moved an inch.

********

"Here is the drink for you," I said, dropping a glass on the table and he took it immediately and gulped it in a go.

"More!" His voice came with chills.
