"Zuo Ming, Zuo Fei… Heh, this is going to be interesting. I'd like to see how you plan to mess with me," Ye Feng sneered, a mischievous glint flickering at the corner of his mouth as he strolled down a quiet forest path. Hardly anyone ventured here, and just beyond lay his villa.
"Stop right there! Don't move—this is a robbery! Hand over all your money!" a man in black shouted.
"A robbery? I like it," Ye Feng chuckled. This deserted spot was a strange choice for a robbery. Either the robber had lost his mind, or there was something else going on here. He doubted this was just a random stick-up.
Sure enough, a man in sunglasses appeared behind the first robber and whacked him over the head. "Robbery? Are you out of your mind? We're here to rough him up, you fool! How are you planning to make it on the street with such little professionalism?"
Ye Feng couldn't help but laugh. "So this is the kind of thug Zuo Fei hires? Pathetic," he said with a smirk.
"Boss, he's insulting us. What should we do?" one of the men asked.
"Enough of this nonsense! We're here to teach him a lesson. Boys, grab your gear and hit him," the leader ordered.
The men charged forward, one of them swinging a baseball bat at Ye Feng's head.
"Wow, going straight for the head?" Ye Feng sidestepped smoothly. Behind the attacker, others were pulling out their weapons: fruit knives, bicycle chains, and—strangely—a bottle of pesticide.
Did these idiots seriously bring a bottle of pesticide? Did they think it would poison him?
With Ye Feng's strength, though, this ragtag gang was hardly a match for him.
"Do you think I'm just going to stand here and let you beat me up?" Ye Feng growled, snatching the baseball bat mid-swing and ripping it from the thug's grasp.
Instead of using his mastery in martial arts, Ye Feng relied on his raw strength and reflexes, wielding the bat to swiftly knock each thug to the ground.
Finally, he turned to the leader, who was already trembling. Ye Feng tossed the blood-smeared bat aside, first wiping off his fingerprints just to be safe. "Pathetic. You didn't even come close to touching me. If Zuo Fei's going to come after me, tell him to hire someone with more skill next time. Now, get lost!"
The leader scrambled up, dragging his gang along. They took off at an Olympic sprint.
Back at his villa, Ye Feng took a quick shower and entered his "lottery space" with a satisfied grin. Teaching those thugs a lesson had earned him something valuable—a voice in his mind had chimed in just as he was dealing with the last of them:
"Congratulations, Master. By ridding the area of wrongdoers, you've earned 130 points of Virtue."
"Hey, system! Open up my profile page."
"Why the rush, Master? Calm down a bit, would you?" the system voice replied, sounding almost irritated, but the character sheet quickly appeared.

Ye Feng chuckled, looking at his new Virtue points. "System, what can I do with these 130 Virtue points?"
"Master, you may exchange 100 Virtue points for one draw in the lottery. Alternatively, you can save them for future use or to neutralize any Karma points," the system replied.
"Hmm… maybe I'll hold onto them for now. There isn't anything I really need at the moment," Ye Feng mused. He could save them in case he ever needed a draw or, worse, needed to counteract Karma.
"System, if I just go around beating up a few punks every day, does that mean I'll keep earning Virtue points?"
"Master, if you think earning Virtue is as easy as beating up a few troublemakers, you're sorely mistaken," the system sighed. "Virtue points only accrue when your actions help bring about justice. And if you harm an innocent person by mistake, you'll lose Virtue points."
"Wait—so I can't even defend myself if someone attacks me?" Ye Feng frowned.
"On the contrary. When it comesto self-defense, you'll never accumulate Karma. And if the person attacking you has high Karma, you'll earn Virtue, just as you did today," the system explained.
"Ah, good to know," Ye Feng sighed in relief, leaving the lottery space.
Back in his villa, he prepared a simple meal using his culinary skills and then opened his computer. While he was thinking about how to earn more Virtue points, some relaxation was in order. However, while he knew how to turn the computer on, he was clueless about navigating its functions.
"Wait, I have an idea!" He snapped his fingers, remembering the "life skills" lottery category included computer skills. A quick draw would fix this.
"System, I'm ready to try my luck!"
"Master, didn't you just refuse to draw a few minutes ago? Why the sudden rush now?" the system huffed.
"Just spin the wheel, already," Ye Feng muttered, watching as the lottery wheel spun up in front of him.
