BANG! BANG!! BANG!!!
The zombies outside the cafeteria continued banging on the glass door, this time even harder, filling everyone in the cafeteria with fear of what was about to happen.
Dorian stood in the middle of the cafeteria, having made up his mind to help his schoolmates survive the first trial. This wasn't because he was kind but because he had use for them.
As he stood there, everyone could see him, and most of them couldn't help but wonder what the "Slum kid" was going to do.
Clearing his throat, Dorian began, "Everyone, listen to me..."
"Shut the hell up!!"
But before he could finish, a student hiding under a table interrupted him, trying to shut him up.
Dorian shot a glare toward the student and said in an irritated tone, "Craig, you're literally hiding under a table like a little bitch, yet you have the guts to interrupt me, the one trying to save you? You should be crawling and pleading for my help like the bitch you are."
After his words, the cafeteria fell silent. Only the sound of zombies banging on the glass door broke the silence.
They looked at Dorian as if he were an alien. The same person who never had the guts to look them in the eyes before was suddenly cussing someone out. How was that even possible? Each of them stared at him with shock and disgust, mixed with the fear of the zombies about to break in.
As for the one who interrupted Dorian, Craig, he was furious. Crawling out from under the table, he glared at Dorian with intense hatred. "Who do you think you are talking to, you filthy trash!"
Craig was afraid of the zombies outside, but he wouldn't let a "poor rat" like Dorian talk down to him.t#sy#za#g
Dorian observed Craig with a calm look as he fumed, expecting this reaction: These people wouldn't respect him unless he proved' he was no longer the trash bag they kicked around in the past.
He quickly scanned the room, and his eyes landed on Brandon, who had the best attack class at the moment—one that didn't require mana. Without wasting a second, Dorian mentally activated his character bind.
DING! [Character bind with character (BRANDON) successful]
[EXTRACTION activated on target (BRANDON)]
DING! [ERROR!! Target has no EXP to extract]
After his ability activated on Brandon, Dorian felt a strange sensation, as if he had suddenly gained a work animal to use to his advantage. As he looked at Brandon, he suddenly felt like he could control him. But that was just a mentality, as there was meant to be no mental connection between them.
He quickly ignored the error message and immediately activated Copycat.

DING! [Merging complete… Class (MARTIAL ARTS) has been added]
[You have received a permanent passive boost (Strength Boost lv 1: Boosts physical strength by 200%)]
Once the boost activated, a surge of energy flowed into his body, and he felt a lot stronger than he ever was. Feeling this change, a smirk appeared on his face as he turned his attention back to Craig, who was already near.
Craig stormed toward Dorian with a hateful expression, fists clenched, ready to teach the "church rat" a lesson.
All the students, despite their fears, watched with interest, eager for another satisfying view of the "Slum kid" getting served.
Craig is very tall and muscular, wasn't as intimidating as Brandon, but he was still one of the feared bullies at Starmap.
However, the moment Craig swung his fist, Dorian caught it effortlessly. Craig's eyes widened in shock as he struggled to free his hand, but Dorian's grip was like iron.
With a small smirk, Dorian tightened his hold, forcing Craig down to his knees. "The world has changed, Craig. And so have I."
Craig's face twisted in pain and disbelief as Dorian pushed him to the ground. The room was silent, the students too stunned to react. Dorian straightened up, his gaze sweeping across the room. "If anyone else has something to say, do it now," he said, his voice steady. "Otherwise, follow my lead if you want to survive."
After seeing Dorian's display of power, none dared to oppose him. Dorian observed their expressions with a smirk before nodding in satisfaction. Before the sudden apocalypse, being the beta character was the only way he could survive, but now, there was no one smart or strong enough to take his place as the alpha.
The banging of the zombies continued outside the cafeteria. The door's strength had already worn out, and in just a few seconds, the zombies would be storming the cafeteria.
"Dorian, you said you want to help? So what do we do now? The zombies are going to break in very soon," one of the young ladies asked with a terrified expression.
Dorian nodded before giving instructions. He began by asking them to open their character status, where they would be able to view and understand their newbie packages which is their only key to survival.
"Mine says I have a martial arts class that comes with a permanent 200% boost in strength. Is that even real?" Brandon was the first to speak after opening his character status. He looks really confused after seeing his stats.
Close to Brandon, a small portal appeared in front of a young man, and a sword was summoned from it. The sword looked great with a black blade that gave off a fiery aura, which Dorian quickly recognized—the Pyro Sword.
At the far end of the class, Clarissa stared at her character status with a confused expression.
[ UNNAMED: Your survival rate depends on how close you are to the main characters.
Current survival rate: 8% ]
"I already have a survival rate of eight percent, which means I'm already close to a main character? But who is it?" she muttered to herself, her gaze shifting toward Dorian, who stood confidently among the others. "Is it Dorian?"
One by one, everyone revealed their newbie packages, which mostly included classes, boosts, and relics. None of them were able to awaken a special ability like Dorian, confirming his suspicion that he received the special ability because he was a reader before the novel merged with the real world.
But he couldn't help but wonder if he had become one of the protagonists, or maybe the antagonist.
'Being a powerful extra is better,' he thought before turning to his schoolmates.
There were around 200 of them inside the cafeteria, with around 20 holding relics ranging from bows and arrows to swords. Though they were scared, their readiness was visible.
At that moment, the zombies had already created a big crack in the glass door. One of them let out a low growl and delivered the final punch, completely shattering the glass door. With a collective growl of victory and hunger, the zombies began staggering inside the cafeteria.
Dorian, standing in the middle of the cafeteria, watched the zombies stagger inside with a calm, cold smile on his face, before declaring in a loud voice.
"This is it, everyone. Lift your weapons and ready your attacks. Those who refuse to fight will die, and those who fight will survive."
