"I've unlocked a character so soon?" Dorian's eyes brightened as he saw the notification.
Unfortunately, even though he had a strong urge to check it now, he couldn't; there were still more zombies to slaughter.
He swung back into action and slew the remaining zombies in front of him, clearing them out completely.
At the moment, there were no more zombies approaching from the rear.
Dorian turned to observe the other sides and noticed a few more zombies staggering toward the group.
The other teams were doing their best, but the zombies were just too many.
Dorian shook his head and decided to help them. Before leaving, he turned to the group behind him and warned, "Do not move."
The students nodded attentively while Dorian grabbed his dagger and approached the other zombies.
Muller was up against three zombies at the same time. His composure appeared shaken by the number of zombies attacking him at once; he couldn't swing his pyro sword properly. He was even sweating profusely.
"Relax, I'll take care of them," Dorian said, giving him a reassuring pat on the shoulder before clashing with the zombies. The knife of darkness in his hand darted like a bullet and burst open the skull of the closest zombie.
The other two swung their rotten claws at him, and he quickly counterattacked by chopping off their hands.
The zombies were very much dead, but even with their hands chopped off, they didn't stop trying to devour the human in front of them, using their mouths this time.
"Disgusting," Dorian scoffed as he slew the two.
After he was done with these, he went to help the others, and in five minutes, everything was over.
"Good job," Dorian complimented Brandon and the others who assisted in the fight.
Brandon found himself smiling subconsciously, like a little girl receiving compliments about her new dress from her father. He realized this pretty late and quickly composed his facial expression.
As for the others, receiving the compliment from Dorian, who was currently the strongest among them, boosted their ego a little bit.
The other students in the group who hadn't found the courage to go against the zombies so far felt useless and embarrassed.
Dorian didn't spare them a look and went to the front of them.
"Follow me... try to be as quiet as you can. If any of you make unnecessary noise and draw out more zombies, I'll leave you to fend off against them yourselves. Understood?"
They nodded.
Dorian did not waste time and began leading the group toward the dormitory.
It was already evening, and night was fast approaching.
'If we don't make it to the dormitory on time, we'll face more danger than we can imagine. Most of the strong side characters couldn't even survive the night,'Dorian pondered as he led the group, observing the area from time to time.
At this moment, his mind shifted to the weak links in the group and their uselessness.
'The second trial will be more chaotic. I'll have to kick out everyone who doesn't make it past level 10 before then.'
For now, his plan was to nurture his schoolmates to become better fighters. Then he would be at an advantage binding with them. He wasn't carrying them along because he wanted to play the role of the hero, but because he had use for them.
Twenty minutes quickly went by after they began walking again.
At this moment, the group of 139 students could be seen standing in front of a magnificent ten-story dormitory building. This dormitory was one of the top three spacious and luxurious dormitories in Starmap Academy.
The building was very wide as well; each floor could hold at least fifty students at the same time without overcrowding.
Before now, Dorian wouldn't have been able to step close to this structure without getting shunned by the bratty rich kids like Brandon and Craig, who took every single opportunity to remind him of his poverty.
But now, no one could stop him from getting close.
He turned to the students beside him and announced in a loud voice, "This is our checkpoint for today."
They all nodded, glad that they finally had a spot to hide their heads.
Dorian gave a signal to Craig and Brandon.
Both of them went toward the door and tried opening it using the doorknob. However, it was locked which was expected as the dormitory was always locked during class hours.
"Should we break down the door?" Brandon turned to Dorian and asked.
Dorian shook his head and replied, "Breaking the door would only draw the attention of the zombies in the area."
'There must be someone with a thief class here. I think I saw one earlier,' he thought.
He then turned to the group behind him and asked, "Does anyone here know how to pick locks?"
His question was simple, but most of the students found it disgusting.
'We're from very wealthy families, not the suburbs. We don't have the need to pick locks and steal,' some of them thought with disgusted expressions.
One of the young ladies was about to give a negative reply when a guy in the back raised his hand.
"Come forward," Dorian called him out without wasting a second.
The student—a 5'6" tall guy with long black hair tied in a ponytail and wearing golden-rimmed glasses—walked out.
The other students looked at him as though they were looking at a madman draped in mud.
Dorian could easily tell that these students were judging him for being able to perform such an incriminating task as lockpicking. His value before them reduced drastically.
But Dorian couldn't care less about their insecure nobility and went ahead to check the character status of the young man.

Ivan - Lv 0
Ethereal Order - Tier-1
Aspect - Class: Thief (Tier-1)
➟BIND?

'He has a good class, but why is he still level 0?' Dorian frowned.
Ivan got closer and halted before him.
"My class grants me a special skill that involves lockpicking," Ivan told Dorian in a rather loud voice.
Dorian could easily tell that Ivan was trying to explain as loudly as he could so as not to appear ignoble to his schoolmates.
"I don't care if you were a thief before now or you got a class that helps, just open the damn door," Dorian replied curtly.
Ivan nodded and stood before the dormitory door.
He took a deep breath and knelt beside it. The other students watched nervously as he began to work on the lock. His fingers moved deftly, manipulating the tumblers with practiced ease.
After about a minute, a soft click sounded from the big dormitory door as it creaked open.
Some of the students couldn't help but sigh in relief.
A few still dwelled on insecure nobility and morality and continued judging Ivan inwardly.
These people disgusted Dorian.
He spotted a group of young ladies observing Ivan while scowling.
He observed their stats, and they were all level zeros with useless aspects.
Dorian could not hold it in and called them out for their disgusting actions.
"If you three keep acting so mighty, I'll have to keep you out of the group. I'm sure the zombies would enjoy your 'noble' brains."
