After managing to calm down the group of single guys from Class 602, Chen Han Sheng picked up the "Poverty Student Financial Aid Eligibility Form" and walked over to Shen You Chu. He silently sat down in front of her.
Shen You Chu was reviewing her lessons, and when she looked up, she was surprised to see Chen Han Sheng instead of her roommate.
Chen Han Sheng didn't bother with formalities; he casually leaned on the desk, chin resting on his hand, and stared intently at Shen You Chu. "Haven't been to class for a few days. Did you miss me?"
Shen You Chu didn't expect Chen Han Sheng to be so bold, especially in front of the whole class. Blushing, she whispered, "Can you be more serious?"
"What's wrong with this? This is serious," Chen Han Sheng replied, reaching for Shen You Chu's textbook. Seeing it filled with notes and highlighted points, he said, "If I need tutoring before the exam, you have to help me."
Shen You Chu turned her face away without responding.
"Did you hear me?" Chen Han Sheng repeated.
"Yes, I heard," Shen You Chu quickly nodded, worried about drawing attention from others.
Just then, Hu Lin Yu, who had been resting in the hallway, entered the room, thinking Chen Han Sheng was bullying Shen You Chu again. She hurried over to mediate but was surprised when Chen Han Sheng smiled at her and said, "Perfect timing, Xiao Hu. I got the 'Poverty Student Financial Aid Eligibility Form.' Can you guide Shen You Chu to fill it out?"
Hu Lin Yu glanced at the form and excitedly told Shen You Chu, "It's all done! The class leader really helped you get the financial aid qualification!"
Shen You Chu felt grateful, but her introverted personality kept her quiet. As Chen Han Sheng leaned closer, she instinctively retreated to the corner of the desk. With a tiny voice, she murmured, "Thank you."
"No need to thank me. We'll sleep together sometime," Chen Han Sheng said casually.
Seeing this, Hu Lin Yu, noticing Shen You Chu seemed overwhelmed, slapped the desk and said, "Class leader, that's enough. When will the money arrive?"
Chen Han Sheng gave her a disapproving look, straightened up, and replied, "It's hard to say right now. I still need to communicate with the relevant parties."
Though Yu Yueping had said the funds might arrive next week, Chen Han Sheng couldn't give a firm answer due to possible delays. Moreover, he intended to use this situation to "pressure" Shen You Chu.
He then switched the topic. "As for the class's social event, let's just organize a movie night at the Student Activity Center."
"A movie?" Hu Lin Yu hadn't considered that possibility.
Chen Han Sheng nodded. "The Student Activity Center hosts movie screenings every Friday. I'll buy 54 tickets using the class funds, and I'll pick adjacent seats. We'll have a drawing to pair up boys and girls, and the ones sitting next to each other will watch the movie together."
"It's a fresh idea, and it breaks up dorm cliques. Plus, no one will know who their partner is until the movie starts. There's a sense of participation and excitement, don't you think?"
Hu Lin Yu quickly understood and nodded. This sounded like a great idea, and it wasn't too complicated to organize.
"Since you don't object, let's make it official. I'm going back to class," said Chen Han Sheng.
Before leaving, he turned to Shen You Chu and warned, "This is a class event, and no one can skip. Otherwise... hmm."
Hu Lin Yu sympathized with Shen You Chu and said, "Just go. It's only a movie. For the sake of the aid, you can endure it for now."
She continued, "You know Chen Han Sheng, right? He spent three days in the Youth League office just to get this eligibility form for you."
"You also know how proud he is. He wouldn't go this far if he didn't care about you."
"Besides, if he dares to touch you during the movie, just shout 'harassment.'"
Reluctantly, Shen You Chu nodded, feeling both embarrassed and overwhelmed. She had never been to a movie before, and now her first movie night would be with a boy who often bullied her.
She glanced at Chen Han Sheng, who was enjoying a cigarette service from Jin Yang Ming. With a sigh, she lowered her head.
After class, Chen Han Sheng arranged to buy the tickets. His student union position proved useful. The club organizing the movie screenings was quick to comply when they heard the buyer was the Vice Minister of External Affairs for the Humanities Department, especially with the bulk purchase of 54 tickets.
On Friday morning, during a break, Chen Han Sheng stood up in class and said, "Everyone, to enrich your extracurricular activities, promote friendship among students, and strengthen class cohesion, tonight we're hosting a Friday Movie Party."
He explained the rules for the event. Most of the class hadn't expected such an interesting activity, and it sounded much more exciting than karaoke or dining, especially with the added mystery of who would be sitting next to whom.
Chen Han Sheng hosted the drawing, and as the boys and girls came up to pick their tickets, the boys couldn't hide their smiles, eagerly waiting for the evening. The girls were more reserved, but also enjoying the fun with their roommates.
However, no one noticed that Shen You Chu didn't participate in the drawing. Chen Han Sheng had already given her a ticket before class. "You're in row 706, and I'm in 707. We don't need to draw."
Shen You Chu nervously opened her hand, holding a sweaty movie ticket.
Once the drawing was done, the atmosphere in the class shifted. Even the teacher felt something was off. It was still early spring, but it seemed like the class was already filled with excitement and anticipation.
After class, as Chen Han Sheng was heading out, the most recognized beauty in class, Shang Yan Yan, approached him with a smile. "Class leader, which seat are you in?"
Chen Han Sheng, not wanting to answer, replied, "That's boring. It's like ancient marriages—only when the lights go out and the clothes come off do you know who your partner really is. That's the fun part."
"Pervert," Shang Yan Yan playfully punched him. Though she wasn't as beautiful as Xiao Rong Yu or Shen You Chu, she knew how to dress and present herself, and her previous experiences with boys gave her a charm of her own.
Chen Han Sheng laughed, letting her punch him. Though he wasn't interested in Shang Yan Yan, he still flirted with her. However, he accidentally let her take one of the movie tickets.
Shang Yan Yan glanced at Chen Han Sheng's seat number, a bit disappointed, but didn't say anything and left with a smile.
"You better not mess with my girlfriend!" Jin Yang Ming, who had been "monitoring" from the side, walked over and angrily warned him.
Jin Yang Ming, also someone who had benefitted from connections, was paired with Shang Yan Yan by Chen Han Sheng, and he was already thinking about where their future children might go to school.
However, noticing the subtle change in Shang Yan Yan's expression, Chen Han Sheng silently shook his head. Things might not turn out as he hoped.
